I noticed there is 3 cams at the intersection where 50st meets the whitemud. They are on a tall pole where the median is. They just look like regular cams, I think they are for monitoring major intersections where many accidents occur.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I just think it's a waste of money on the city's part. Kind of makes you feel insecure, you know..
Anyone seen these? I think i saw them at another intersection as well. |

The reason for those cameras is actually traffic control, they are linked to some kind of computer softwear that controls how long the tuning light (for cars turning onto the whitemud) stays on for. There is the same setup on the turning lights for the overpass at 66/75th and whitemud. They are not used to inforce redlight camera tickets.
The ones at the 66/75th street overpass have been there for over a year.. maybe you just noticed something that has been there for a long time ? |
