Forged Rims = don't crack when in accident? *pics* - Click HERE for Original Thread

REFLUX
Got this off Honda-Tech.
I've had a few people tell me that the preference for Forged rims yield you a lighter, stronger rim. If involved in an accident it will more likely bend than crack/snap/break.

Hmmm...wonder if there is any reason to get forged rims vs. just as light cast rims now...besides *bling*

Somebody is a moron to do that to that car. I'm sure that under normal driving conditions any rim would work fine.

what happened? did he drive off the road into a field of mud and rocks?

lovemytrx
Maybe he thought it was a 4 by 4. For it to be that dirty & full of mud shows lack of respect for his ride.:p

Makes sense..

I'd rather have a rim thats visibly damaged then one thats bent, and possibly have hidden damages...

Also depends what kind of aluminum is used.. Forging will make it stiffer and therefor crack instead of deforming..

but that doesn't say much about blinging forged rims...
