| If you import a RHD car and it come in to Canada with an enlarged muffler, is the muffler its imported wiht consider a base muffler for the car? |

| I would say a cop can give you a ticket, but if you took it to court you would not have to pay it because they dont have any proof saying its not a factory. |

| That depends on the car.... |

say sykline or a cosmo ?
would there be a no ticket since there no NA car that is the same? |

| THEY would have to prove that is a modified muffler. JASMA approved mufflers are "OEM" replacements in Japan too, keep that in mind. OEM is OEM in japan or here.... |

| I believe that as long as it has a muffler and your car's exhaust is not louder than 82db it's perfectly legal |

| Either way - it won't stop them from ticketing you and you having to fight it. |

And as long as the exhaust "tip" is not enlarged.... the rest can be enlarged just not the tip... weird ... I dunno where they come up with some laws? :dunno: |

But there is something saying that if it's like that from the factory then it's aloud. Kinda like some cars have tinted windows all around and that is legal as long as it came from the factory. Might not be true but it's just something I HEARD quite a while ago. |

| ^--- I think it has something to do with Car manufactures aren't aloud to sell anything that isn't DOT or SAE approved and thus if it is coming from the factory like that, it must be approved. |

Harley's aren't that loud from the factory, in fact they are as quiet as most cars. Most Harley sales shops take a reamer to the muffler to make it loud like that either befor the bike is sold (without the buyer knowing that it was any different) or after it is sold (with permission from the buyer) |

It actually says the "exhaust outlet of the muffler", so technically a tip isn't in violation (unless you've got a big ass fartcan with the built in tip).
I'm almost hoping that they try and ticket me for this or a noise violation this summer, court would be fun! :p |
