Welcome to the Edmonton Area Nissan club.
Some good points and conversations going on inthe Nissan topic, so here we are, our own place to yammer about.
I'll paste S13BURG's post and we'll discuss it further here:
"Yeah I like that idea too. I have respect for the Z's for sure. But I'd like to see a separated cluc as well. New Gen next to the Old Gen (although Z32's aren't old).
Two different clubs that work together in some sort of way (to be worked out later on), New Skool vs. Old Skool. If this would be the case, we might have a problem with the Z32's. I know you have a bunch of guys with 'em in your club, but if this one started, I have a bunch that would wanna be part of the new skool (obviously no offence). Hmmm, I think it would be cool to have Z32's of 2 different gens. Like 2 gangs. They can battle against each other. ALthough we want to be all one big happy Nissan family. I'm just throwing out some ideas here.
That would be a blast. New and old. Although you damn Z's are quick.
PEACE "
I like this idea of the two clubs, one and the same, but different.
There obviously is enough interest and enough Nissan pilots out there to warrant this sort of thing. |

By all means, go for it.
I think the reason our club adopted some non-Z Nissan owners in the first place was because previously they had nowhere else to go.
But if its going to be one club for 240SXs, Sentras (and all variants of SR20DE family), Spec-Vs, etc., and one club for Zs... I think its pretty obvious where the Z32s belong.
Since I have a '01 Sentra SE as a daily driver, I too have some interest in seeing a knowledgable group of SR20DE enthusiasts banding together. |

so what's happening with this generalized nissan club?
You guys wouldn't mind a Z joining you then?! |

I don't think that'll be a problem :)
It's just how you'll be viewed by the guys in the Z club ;) |

| hmm.... well, i did say I support everyone... so if they want to be asses about it, then too bad for them. Let's just hope that doesn't happen. |

uhm... ya how bout that..... I didn't say you... I said they :D
I'm actually pretty excited for all of spring.... Hopefully we'll all be one big happy family... the Zguys = parents, all other nissans = the rest of the family :) I think I'll be driving my car for most of december cause my insurance company will only allow me to start with a month of insurance...
So it's crazy, but I'll be around with her on the road at least for a couple of weeks and until the snow goes crazy on our asses! |

So, in this new organization of car clubs, where does an old, non-Z, car go?
According to the New Skool and Old Skool idea, I would be in EZCC - but hardly welcome I'm sure (this is an assupmtion, according to the way things work back home in BC).
I would rather be in the New Skool group, as I prefer modifications, etc., but I do drive a 33 year old car....hardly new.
I'm just curious as to where I should go....and playing Devil's Advocate.
But I know everyone will say "Go where you what to go."
Which is what I always end up doing.... |

Not true. There are several 510s in our club already.
Also, whatever gave you the idea that EZCC members don't modify their cars?? |

Like i said, this was an assumption, as the Z club back home is slowly dying due to older members and the preference for original, stock, albeit older cars. There are a few modified cars (ZX w/ 350 V8), but the old, modified Z's stay with their Solo clubs instead.
You say there are 510s in your club....I have only ever heard of other 510 in this town - except for a parked beater and a slalom ringer...
I would love to come to a meeting, just name the time and place. |
