| How do you post pics? |
|
|
| 83b18b1slow |
Ummm....
first you have to have a place to upload your pictures to the internet with.
then you can stick that image into your post with the address of where that image is, and using the "IMG" button.
[IMG]http://members.shaw.ca/marlowed/2.jpg[-/IMG-]
[IMG]http://members.shaw.ca/marlowed/3.jpg[-/IMG-]
It would look like that while you post but without the "-" in the last closing tag...
oh, and that is exactly what i have posted to put my two pictures up... |

ALright, here's some of the pics. They don't look so hot, they were taken right as I was leaving the shop after the engine swap. The car is in the paint booth right now gettin a makeover, so I'll get some more pics in a couple weeks. But here is a taste. ENJOY!
Peace

why do you have your headlights slightly up like that? just style or is there a functional purpose? |
|
|
| 83b18b1slow |
Yeah that's a good question.
and do you have them pivot light controllers or you do that manually? |
|
|
| BlueTurboEGG |
| I think he just adjusted the stops, right?, I can't remember. Aaron has been busy lately, but he'll be back (and I'm sure he'll point out that I probably spelt his name wrong again :)) |
|
|
| SRBURG13 |
Sorry guys. Yeah, I just manually adjusted those lights, and there is no functional purpose for it being like that. I've heard it does, but I just do it for looks. I personally like it better. Ahh well. I'm debating on whether to keep it or not. What do you think?
And Andy, you got the name right on the money! Congrats. Hehe.
I think I might have the car out today, and drive it straight to my garage. Hopefully it will have a good hybernation til spring.

I like the look of it in these pix with the lights the way they are.... I think that's cool. However, it seems kind of useless, especially if you do night driving; do they still pop up and just go back down to that set position when they're turned off, or do you have to do them manually each time!? Maybe some "fog" lights are in order...
BTW, Aaron, I was at Sumaru's and I saw your car there, again.... damn is it nice. I saw it on one of the V8Less cruises and at Powerama last year with Jesse's BMW (thats the one from powerrama, right?). I have to say, I love it! |

It looks pretty neat like that...
are you planning on maybe getting some like light conversion or something? so that it's fog lights in there or something...
or like that East Bear conversion kit before that would replace it with two large fog/driving lights... kinda' how you see rx-7's ever so often on magazine covers...
Good for air flow maybe?...
put some washers (shims...) on the rear hood brackets so the air comes out that way... he-he drifter styles? |

I saw some Japanese video that had some pretty cool Silvia's in it! In general some pretty cool cars, all turbo'd and done up.
BTW, the Silvias all had their pop up headlights done just LIke yours Aaron! I guess that means you're in style with the Japanese crew! |
|
|
| BlueTurboEGG |
I have a buddy in Japan and he brought back a video of a few of his personal videos he has taped during his AE86 and drifting events.
The highlight was a Husband and Wife team attacking a road course with a white (his) modded Sylvia and pink (hers) modded Sylvia. That was cool... |

BlueTurboEGG: Is that a video you could put on vcd or I could download off the net? I wouldn't mind checkign out some drift stuff.... I can't seem to find too much of it... all the stuff I get is usually street drags and that sort! I wouldn't mind something a little more challenging to contemplate trying....... one day long from now:)
Even if you can't show me that vid. Where would you go for drift stuff... initial d can only go so far though! |

I'l hit him up for a copy when he gets back...

Finally a link that works. This is what my car looks like... That's not me in it though, this is from the Z club's shownshine from last summer when the previous owner still owned it. Fortunatly nothing has changed with the car since then, so it still looks the same.

Thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah, thats the one from Powerama. When did you see it at Sumaru's? It was there cause I was gettin a new paint jobby. Its just gettin the downpipe re-done right now, and I should have it back some time this week. Then its parked for the winter in my garage.
RedBaron. Do I know you from somewhere? Since you know Jesse and all.

Yeah, I don't think that I'm going to be doing any headlight conversions or anything. Just gonna keep it lookin as stock as possible. The very last thing I will ever do is a body kit. From here on in, it is all motor. I'm a fan of slightly modded cars, that still look moddified, but are VERY clean. Sort of a sleeper approach. I'm trying to go for something like that. Any other suggestions?

I was at sumaru's last weekend getting some belts done on my car; and it was just outside of the paintshop there. You know, I doubt that you'd know me at all?! I know Jesse from when he worked at Great West Dodge with me, and I saw him at powerama and he showd me his car... Chances are you've seen me around a couple of times, but thats probably it?!
I'll be going back to Sumaru's tomorrow for him to take another look at my car.... it's making a weird noise since those belts were changed, so hopefully it's nothing bad!
You asked for other suggestions as to what you should do to your car? I don't think theres much you can do if you want a clean sleeper looking ride. I think you've accomplished that pretty decently. The one thing I'll comment on is that your rims dont do the car justice, I think there are better looking ones out there, maybe some that would better suit your car too? White or black wheels look nice with a red car. And of course, the one thing I'd do to any car (almost) if i ahd the coin is like a black leather sparco race seat, I think they're called turino's?! Or a cloth color that goes with the interior of the car. |
|
|
| SRBURG13 |
Yeah, maybe I'll see you around. Yeah, I remember when he worked there.
Sparco seats? Yeah, Torino's or Milano's is what I really want. But those are huge bucks, almost a grand each. Thats the last thing I'll do to the car. First in line is more engine mods, and bigger brakes. Then I'll look into the other shit.
Take it easy. |

Cool cool... don't you already have your engine really well done up???? Are you going brembo brakes or is there another brand you'll do? Either way man, like i said, the car still looks sweet overall... and when I saw it at the cruise that was just sweet too.... oh I also think I've seen you downtown at bp's a couple of times! |
|
|
| SRBURG13 |
I only brought the car out with the new engin in it once, at a short v8Less meeting that was ended because of snow. And I went to BP's once with it too with the engine, I beleive it was the last weekend for it. Other then that, if you saw me, it was with the old engine in there.
As far as brakes go. I'm think if some 300zx TT brakes for the front. I'll debate what kind of discs I'll slap in there. We'll see. I still have time to think about that one. I have to concentrate on makin dough first. :D
As far as engine mods. I was thinking some new Greddy cams or something along these lines. It's all up in the air right now anyway. I have a bunch of other things to worry about in the mean time.
Oh, and I wouldn't call it WELL done up. There are a few different things in there, but nothin to write home about. Respectable I guess.
PEACE

Respectable :) The SR20DET right :)
I did see you at that short V8less meet and you had the new engine in a BP
s, reason why I say that is cause people were crowding round while you showed it off... and you could hear the cool bov and turbo when you arrived and left :)
Money is key. There is so much that I want to do to my car, but the only coin I have is a texas mickey of pennies!!!!!!!!!!! What the hell will that buy me!?
Anywayz, goodluck with your project, hopefully it all comes into place with everything you want for spring/summer!I'm just hoping we have some snow soon though, we'll need it to melt in the spring clear some gravel up and help those poor farmers! |
