Well i am moving to Vancouver on Sunday, and have just loaded my car to be shipped down there. Long story short, i went to make sure i had all my papers in the glove compartment. Prep'd and ready to make a smooth transition over to BC insurance & license. Only to realize that my current, valid registration has been MIA since my last modification ticket back in January 2004. After a couple quick prayers as to how lucky my ass was that i wasn't pulled over for anything, I went over to the Insurance Office to replace it.
Apparently my dad had read somewhere on the ICBC website (BC insurance) that you don't have to keep your origional documents in the vehicle....... photo copy's of the valid forms are acceptable.
Apparently this is because of vehicle theft in the lower mainland..
Does anyone know whether this is true or not..... i've never heard about this until now? |

I managed to find a link to the BC Motor Vehicle Act which states: "Section 11 - The licence issued for a motor vehicle or trailer, or a photocopy of it, must be carried in the motor vehicle, or in the case of a trailer, in the motor vehicle towing the trailer, at all times while the motor vehicle or trailer is on a highway."
The license referred to is also known as the registration papers.
Jimbo  |
