saw one yesterday, has anyone else yet?
looked actually really nice, nicer then rsx's imo
I think street racing is going to rise doto the increase in SRT-4's, Chev cobalt, and the redline. |
|
|
| v8slayer |
I doubt it will increase as only normal sane people buy the domestics.
On another note next time you see a redline go to the passenger side and grab where the front and rear doors meet by the roof and pull.
You can make a gap big enough to fit a pop can through with out damaging the doors. |

Your opinion appears to be clouded through a drug-induced haze. If not, then better get your eyes checked. |
|
|
| Keith303 |
as stated imo, let me elaborate, stock vs stock I like the redline/cobalt better then a stock rsx, however once some apperance mods are done I believe RSX's are among some of the nicest cars out there.
for example DC5PWR's car |

I highly doubt a few new cars on the market are gonna change much. |
|
|

The way I look at it is, theres gonna be alot more smartass young drivers with quick cars out there, srt-4/cobalt/redline and instantly think they have togo out and rape every honda/Sport compact because they think they will have something to prove.
thats just my reasoning in foreseeing arise in street racing action.
maybe it will maybe it wont. quess we'll see how many posts come up in the summer about these cars being seen driven recklessly |

I understand what you mean, but there have always been cheap fast cars. I dont think a couple new cars will have a dramtic increase. |

| We had one come into Certified for a car starter... the interior is ok.. has one of thoes dash boards that are obviously made to change easy from LHD to RHD. The Seats in the car were AMAZING, if i could find a smashed up one in the junk yard i would nab the seats in a heart beat. I only got to drive it in the parking lot so i didnt really get to open up the supercharger at all.. but from what ive heard the supercharger in it isnt all that good.. but thats all ive heard i dont really know much about the motor in thoes cars. All in all, i dont think id ever buy one.. especially since its a saturn and has the wonderful plastic body that all new saturns are famous for. I dont think they're that good.. IMO.. |

| i actually dont mind it it looks good but nothin compared to a RSX....it sorta has the S15 silvia look from the front |

thats about the least flattering ion pic, and the most flattering rsx pic....
I think the cobalt is nicer then the ion, pics dont do the ion justice, the black one with crome rims that I saw looked really nice.
maybe im partial to forcefed gm vehicles.
ive seen a cobalt tested at 14.3, can the 05 rsx-s top that? |

That ion pic is off the saturn webpage.. I'm sure they pic the worst pic they have to advertise their product on the web. |

|
| Wookey |
| lets get everything straight here...... Saturn(GM) build quality versus Honda Build quality....... Hmmmmm...... How bout resale value..... I think we both know which one wins. |
|
|
| 95IntegraRS |
| Fuck, you gotta be kidding me. We're comparing a SATURN to a RSX. What the fuck is wrong with you people? That has to be the ugliest piece of shit car I have seen minus a few Renaults/Fiats. Whereas the RSX has smooth lines with aggresive styling, the Saturn is just... I don't even know how to explain that type of styling disaster. |
|
|
| Keith303 |
as i said at the beginning inmyownfuckingopinion. stop treating it like i gave a wrong answer because there is no wrong answer when it comes to ones opinion.
if i flat out said, the ion is nicer, then i could understand the whole argument, but if you read bettween the lines you can see the IMO |
|

| You don't need to get a whiny if someone challenges your opinion. Geeze, want your soother back? |
|
|
| GQsmooth |
| sorry but those are ugly |
|
|
| Keith303 |
| its not being whiny its that people on this board are over opinionated and it gets annoying |
|
|
| 2000z |
Keith, you shouldn't have to even say it's your opinion. Just by stating it it's pretty much implied that its your opinion.
This is ridiculous. The guy said he thinks it looks better, since when did that mean he needs to be berated?
95integra- He says he likes the way a car looks, you have to make a point of asking what the fuck is wrong with him and tell him its the ugliest piece of shit you've ever seen. Who needs a soother?
Wookey- Where did he say anything about build quality or resale?
Note to self: Saturns are so shitty that even when you think it looks nicer than another car, you're actually wrong no matter what. |

I don't think things have really changed all that much over the course of automotive history. As long as boys are born with a right foot, it will always be magnetically attracted to floorboards.
Guys race because they have a natural inclination for competition. It won't ever go away. If it moves, I bet I can make mine go faster. That is the nature of the beast.
The newer cars are beginning to come out with the kind of power that is reminiscent of the late 60s, except with much better traction and handling.
The key is knowing where it is appropriate and where it is not.
I don't think we will see an increase in ticketing or offenses around here. The names of the cars to watch for might be changing, but I don't think anything else has.

i agree with u on that part..
during the summer.. most of the times i saw an srt4..
it was racing or trying to pick on something..

ahah thats what i said...
gm claims them to run low to mid 15's stock...
so a 14.3 is probably a run with different sc pulley..
bolt ons..
and slicks...
but maybe im wrong.. i havent driven one yet.. |

i saw a 14.3 in a magazine at a gas station. if my math is correct
proven 14.5 time provided by 2000z isnt much off from 14.3 which I saw.
maybe I didnt read the fine print and they did some free mods to get it .2 lower.... or maybe they had a better driver, altittude, wind ect ect ect. |

I know the Vue has the 3.5L Honda engine - but I'm pretty sure the Redline is a GM engine.... |

thats a oldsmobiles engine. its the same engine that is in the malibu and the new G6.
its a new gen 3.5 from GM and is in alot of their new cars.
GM has nothing to do with honda. as far as i know.
vist this link for the all of the gm engines
http://www.gminsidenews.com/e_guide.htm
i thnk the 3.5 in the redline is bit differant tho. to get the extra power |

judging by what u wrote.. u know NOTHING about cars man
the engine in the Vue is shared with the pilot.. MDX.. and odyssey
GM's new 3.5L is their own engine. used in the uplander, malibu, and G6..
and the redline doesnt have a 3.5L man |

WOW, you can post up a bunch of crap from a Redline brochure. What's your point with this? Does this list suddenly make it a great car? |
|
|

| well it doesnt make a bad car..... alot more impressive to me then a 9000rpm redline that in stock form doesnt even do much aswell as a whopping 140trq at best |

i thnk you should chill out and not judge someones knowledge of cars off 1 single post. i know about the new 3.5L. it designed by the oldsmobile branch of GM. the same engine that was in the arora. GM is now using it with a tuned up ecu so they can slowy phase out the 3100 & 3400 seires and put the 3.5L in everything. i know what cars its in, i work at the GM dealership. i was talking about the vue in my last post not the ion.
ok, so doing some research i admit i was wrong about it not being a honda engine.
but judging by what you wrote. it seems that you know about as much as i do about the vue redline.
the vue redline infact as a 3.5L http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/satu...tml?source=nctd
back on topic about the ion redline. they kinda look like a rsx, but the ion is longer.
i wouldnt get either and go right for the SS. :blue: |
