couple issues with my car - Click HERE for Original Thread

Seks
Seems to happen more frequently when it's cold like now :(

1. Sometimes, after I start my car, there will not be any air blowing out of the vents, even when turn up to max. I'd be switching between recirculation and fresh air mode a few times before the air starts blowing. Once in a while, if I shut off the air and try to switch it back on, no air will come out. Motor problem?

2. Sometimes, when I put the gear into P, there will be no light on the P indicator on my dash. That means I won't be able to take the key out of the ignition. I have to wiggle the shifter around a bit, sometimes take 30 sec, before I get the light on the P to get lid. Any ideas why?

What kind of car?? Is the heater system vacum controled? If so sounds like a leek. If not you probly got somthing that has fallin into the heater box.

I always set my heater controls for what I'm going to need them to be in the morning before I even turn off the car. That way, it doesn't need to try to change to the setting that I want when it's really cold, and nothing wants to move.

The problem with your shifter is probably caused by the cold weather as well. There is a pin that locks into place and hits a switch to indicate that it is safely locked into park. When it gets really cold, the grease turns thick and gets slow, and that pin won't move as fast as it should.

shitty, guess i have to live with that?

You can try greasing it with a lighter compound oil (even WD-40, perhaps), but it will likely involve some disassembly of your console. Being front-wheel-drive, it is probably a cable that runs from the shifter up to the transmission, and that is where the lock will be. It might be more of a pain in the ass to fix it than it is to put up with it?
