| Since i'm not a big coilover fan i'm wondering what's the best springs/shocks combination? keep in mind i don't wanna have to pay too much for them.. basically what's the best bargain out there? |

I don't know about the best bargain, but I was very happy with my Neuspeed lowering springs when I had them. The car was actually handling much better back then than now with my coilover kit. But that's probably more because of the sound system than the coilovers.
Actually, I'm pretty I still have them in a box somewhere. I'll check.

Paolo! What about using H&R Sport or Race springs with your stock shock.
I'm thinking of going that route just so I can get the lude a little lower without busting the bank and I'm not worried about adjustment since I don't drive the lude in the winter anyways.
At a later date, I'll replace the stock shock with Koni Yellow Neuspeed Editions! |

Darcy: how long do you think the stock shocks will last for with the H&R's? and how much would the drop be???
On a more general note: how uncomfortable will my ride be with aftermarket springs paired up with stock shocks? would it even be worth it just to buy springs now and shocks later? or should i just wait a little longer and buy them at the same time?
terry: yeah i know. getting up and down the driveway will be a pain... i'll have to buy one of those ramp things.. but pretty pricey. |

Paolo:
I don't know how long the stock shocks would last but I can assure you if you decide on the spring/stock shock combo, they would last until you were ready to upgrade. Also, you may want to consider adjustablility. This setup is unadjustable so you'd be stuck with the lowered ride height. If you are worried or drive the lude in the winter, this is something you may want to reconsider.
You will definitely lose comfort as with any aftermarket suspension upgrade, since you are lowering your car. That's the trade off, ride quality versus lowered ride.
The H&R sport springs and stock shocks will give you a drop around 1.4".
If you are trying to save money in the long run, you would probably want to do the shocks and springs at the same time, just that you would save $$$$ on labour. Especially, if you will be doing the shocks say next year.
However, if you dont want to spend over $1000 on the suspension right away, there are alternate solutions like I had mentioned. |

U are not a big fan of coilovers??? Wow i thought they were alot better than lowering springs...I had a set OF Ground Controls with Eibachs and they car rode like it was on rails, really stiff but Excellent handling...
Either way if your going just for springs, get a Eibach pro kit.. |

Hey whats going on guys? Just thought I would say Hi!!!
i drive a 97 lude (duh) and I'm dropped on H&R sports and Tokico Blues if anyone wants to see what the drop looks like, I also got a set of race springs sitting around that I had in before if anyones interested.
I won't be coming to the christmas party as I am busy with finals and stuff but hopefully I can make it out to the next meet.
