That's right. I just signed all the legal documents for my purchase of a very small 1-1/2 bedroom condominum here in Fort McMurray today.
I can't believe I have a second residence but hey, the mortgage is cheapier than paying rent.
Looks like I'll have to hold off on buying more performance parts, perhaps... |

It was a very tough decision to do this. With my wedding coming up this August and things I wanted to do to the car this year, it didn't seem logical. In retro-spec, I should have bought a place when I originally located to Fort McMurray but I didn't think I would have wanted to stay for an extended period of time. Now I'm thinking of stay for perhaps another 2-3 years.
The hardest part was scraping up enough cash for the down payment; the monthly morgage payments won't be a problem since my living allowance should more than cover my living expenses here. In fact, my mortgage payments will be less than if I was to rent a 1 bedroom un-furnished apartment.
As for the house warming, if anyone wants to make the very long trek up here, I'd be happy to put you up...

| ya i use to work in fortmac..the drive isnt that bad (in the summer) hahawinter is a little sketchy at night...maybe we can work somthin up and make a nice cruise outta drivin up there and find a hotel or somthin spend the nite go to the bar....:dunno: |
