Question...
I was driving my car this morning and was stopped at a stop sign. I put my car in first gear and started to go, then suddenly my dash lit up like the car was going to stall, then went a few inches further and stalled hard. I put my car back in neutral and tried to start it, it wouldn't. My ABS light stayed lit on my dash with one other one I think (wasnt really paying too much attention at the time). It took a few tries to get it to start. This happened a month or so back except that time the revs dipped really low and shot up to about 5000rpm when I wasnt touching anything. I took it to Honda (it was just in for major servicing a few months back) and they couldnt really figure out anything. Any ideas?? Has this happened to anyone else??
And btw I had lots of gas (hondas first question) |

is it still under warranty? if so take it to them and tell them to fix it...
if not..the only things i would suggest are 99% proly not the problem which is the igniter or your main relay...its a common 4th gen problem i dont think its a problem for 5th gens.. |

| yah its still under warranty, till 2009, they wont do anything though unless they are 100% sure its a huge problem that is very obvious, I find if its something that requires diagnostic work they won't ever bother. I was told to keep driving it and see if it does it again. Apparently there was a recall a week or so ago on some part that could be affecting it but so far it doesnt appear that my car will be affected by it... poor car |

Ive heard other wise.
But to your luck, an awesome Honda mechanic's has since started working there, who would know you Prelude better than the guys who designed the car.
Go in there and ask to talk to James Chan, hes a mechanic and owner of PE Tunning.
or you can PM 98luder |

That sounds like your ignition recall. Honda will fix this for free on 97 - 99 ludes. You may have to fight them (even under warrantee), but it is a safety issue. Millwoods Honda is good though and shouldn't give you probs.
It wouldn't be the main relay. It usually happens when it is warm outside and will usually only give you problems starting it...... not stalling. |

I've heard bad things about Millwoods. I usually deal with Alberta Honda and have no problems, yet...
James is not a licensed mechanic so I doubt they have him working on cars, perhaps oil changes or something. I think he just works the service counter but I could be wrong... |

Yip is usually really good at millwoods. Of course, I am not under warrantee anymore so I can't comment too much. He will help me out even if he knows that I will be DIY'ng it. |

the recall was for SS Preludes(97-01). But mainly for U.S. ludes.
And btw, I also heard Millwoods Honda isn't that great, so thats why I go to Acura:D |
