| just to let you know all shops charge a minimum of 1 hour labour. the going rate is 60 bucks an hour...so you were charged the minimum...if it was only clearing the ECU , you should have did it yourself |

| dont you have to have special diagnostics to clear codes though.i still think that its not worth 60 bux even if its thier minimum. |

| of course its not worth it...but no all you gotta do is reset your ecu... take the positive post off ur battery and let it sit for 30 seconds it should do the trick..or the old clock/radio fuse... |

nope.... you have to reset your SRS module. You need a paper clip to do this and locate the yellow service plug (2 prong) under your steering column (under the dash). It is cliped in.
Put the paper clip in the plug in until the SRS light flashes.... pull it out until it flashes again, put it back in..... lights flash again, pull it out and the lights flash and (i think) there is a beep and then you are good to go. |

yeah my battery was connected and disconnected several times during the repair and it didnt do anything. i know you have to use diagnostics to clear codes or a computer or whatever they use. but as far as the paper clip thing goes i dont think i would try it if my light was still on.
... ah damnit i just quoted the wrong one.!!! |

I posted in one with pics but cant find it. I have done this to my sis' 2003 civic x3 and my lude x1. It is easy and safe. The diagnostics OBDII reader basically does the same thing as using a jumper on either the ECU, multiplex control unit, or the SRS system. It is safe and costs $.0001 for a paper clip.:p :dunno: |

Just remember, the 2 prong clip is yellow with yellow tape around the wire. It is hard to find because it is cliped into a bracket and looks like it is wired in. |
