driver side rear view mirror? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I cracked my driver side rear view mirror. I'm getting a new one on friday. Does anybody know how to install a new mirror?

Thanks.

on the top of the door panel, there should be either a little plastic peice on the inside on the mirror, that pops off or take off the whole door panel, and there should be 2-4 nuts holding it on.

With body panels or parts, you can always get them single.

It is a very easy install also. Pull the plastic triange off with your hands (it can be stiff) by grabbing the top of the triange (otherwise you can break the plastic clips). After that it is 1 wire harness and 3 phillips screws. Easy as pie. Just make sure if the new mirror doesn't come with a foam gasket that you re-use your old one so you don't get drafts or wistles.

Ummmm... I don't think I was clear enough. I just need to replace the glass, not the whole assembly. Sorry.

I havent had time to look at it all week.

I had to replace the glass on my old cavi once and it was a mess. I had to smash the glass as much as i could, them use a heat gun to melt the glue and scrape of the broken glase and glue.

I noticed that the glass looks like it's mounted on a plastic part that I can just unscrew. I hoping honda has a bit foresight than cappy chevy. :fingersx:

I just called YellowHead Honda. The Parts guy quoted $98! Thats a bit steep for a small mirror on a plastic bracket! I'm going to head to a glass shop this afternoon to see if they can help me out. :fingersx:

what the?!? They are only $20 USD for each mirror. Holy mark up. Might as well get spoon mirrors for that price.

Just a follow up.

The mirror looks good and has stayed on, the catch is that the defrost does not work not. It's a minor detail but it's thing to make note off.
