Unfortunately, it does not play mp3's. That is why I'm going back to a regular mp3 deck. But it does play VCDs, DVDs, burned DVDs, and DVDs from other regions. |

| no, a home DVD player would not work unless you want to cut the power cord and wire it to your battery haha. But you can run a ps2 or xbox to it, or just buy the entire thing. |
