Tool's & equiptment needed:
Shop vac (wet/dry), old wash mitt and vinyl scrub brush (simular to barbeque brush only plastic brissel's) and some car soap mixture (do not use polymer based car soap)
Direction's :
Make a soap bucket (usually a pop cap full of soap to 4 liters hot water)
apply it to soiled portion of carpet or fabric with wash mitt , scrub gently with vinyl brush and suck it up with the shop vac repeat untill the spot is gone. If a white residue appears after it dries this means you used too much soap if you used too much soap simply use water to dilute it and suck it up. Dry the carpet before leaving the windows closed to prevent mildew.
Quick Tip - If your carpet is super soiled in heavy traffic areas try using a pressure washer to loosen it up. Don't go heavy on it stay about 1-2 feet away cus' a pressure washer can break or force water into big no no places as well as melt the carpet. A quick shot usually loosens it enough to make doing it by hand alot easier.
Lil update , I forgot to warn you about thresholds holding water. Learn to remove the threshold cover gaurds to see if water got in there. If you dont remove the water it will stay there forever and rot......... Smells like shitty diapers as my best example. |
