Demerits - Click HERE for Original Thread

RSN CRX
I got caught by the big speed trap they had Whitemud on Family Day. Now I was wondering if I will get demerits for it. For those of you that didn't see the trap there were cops standing on the side of the road getting descriptions of cars to pull over via radio from the person shooting the gun at unknown location as I could not see where the he was.

If you were actually pulled over by a policeman and issued a ticket then yes, you will receive demerits.

The only tickets you won't receive demerits for are registered owners tickets, where they are sent to the owner of the vehicle. In your case, the ticket was assessed to you, the driver.

What if the cop didn't even ask for my insurance or registration?

SilverNeonRacer

That is the only thing he asked for.

wierd, but ok....

I presume he was busy or was slacking and was just writing tickets quickly, not checking the other stuff.. which is kinda disconcerning...

But they ticket will probably stick and you'll probably get demerits, unless you fight it and plea for less.

Ya he was writing them quickly. It was alsmost as fast as the McDonalds drivethrough.

midnite
drive through assembly line ticketing; should help maximize profits nicely and increase their ROI.

I'm guessing they had so many people who decided to disobey the law that they could not check the registration of each vehicle. The officer could have ran the plate however back in the cruiser....

It's sad - because it could have been a good chance to catch all the un-insured drivers, but at least they caught all the speeders.
