putting two screens into my sun visors - Click HERE for Original Thread

RSN CRX
I am planning on putting two screens into my sun visors. I have a Alpine deck and was wandering if i could use a PS2 as my DVD player without having to purchase an in dash dvd player. And would it be possible to hook it up so the sound comes out of my speakers? Thanks.

anything's possible

Does your deck have a input for an auxillary item? If you're choosing your source can you pick radio, CD, aux? If so, it won't be that hard.

Thanks for your pointless response, but I wouldn't go to EZ even if it was the last place on earth.

All you should need is to plug your audio source into your aux input in your deck. Then with your PS2, buy a power inverter from Canadien Tire, splice it into some power(Example: your Cigarette lighter) and then you have juice. All you need to do now is plug you video into the PS2 and the LCD. EASY!!

Just don't leave the cigarette adapter plug on the converter, that will look ugly as hell. Cut the plug off and splice it in under the dash. But make sure it has alittle air flow, they can get a little hot.

Thanks for your reply. At least someone on this board can give a good response to my question.

i'm assumin your monitors have RCA inputs for the video, so your main hurdle is the audio. The problem is whether the deck has an RCA AUX input, my deck's aux input was a custom plug that ran from the DVD player to the deck, nothing a ps2 could plug into.

if you have an RCA aux input on your deck then it's cake, obviously, but if not you'll have to find some sort of adapter or buy a new deck.

My deck is an alpine CDA-9835 so I'm not too sure if I have that input.

looking at your deck's specs it says it is "Versatile Link Ready"

when I looked up versatile link i found this...

looks like that would do the trick, looks like an RCA aux input to me. it's like $15, don't ask me where you could buy one though

Probably just radio shack man.
If not, try Future shop, Walmart etc. They probably wont even know if they got it, but if you look around, you might find what you need. I usually fluke out and find what I need somewhere I never expected it to be.

those are made by Alpine according to www.incarexpress.co.uk
Try going to somewhere that sells Alpine stuff and ask if they can order Part Number KCA121B for you. if u find anywhere that does fill me in, i want one too.
