Ok, suspension work is my top priority when I get the WRX, so what would be the first thing I would get? I was thinking of getting some under braces just to make the vehicle more rigid, then after that what do you guys recommend? Stiffer suspension, lowered, etc....

'when' being the operative word.
but the usual anti sway bars, strut tower brace under the hood.
adjustable coil-over shocks seem to be the nuts these days, TIEN being a well known japanese maker.
or you could get some lower, stiffer springs, and get some adjustable dampers/shocks, like KONI.
depending on what year of impreza you're looking at, supposedly the suspension control arms on the saab 9-2 x are a marked improvement, but no doubt by 2006 they will have been incorperated.
polyurethane bushings over rubber ones would eliminate some play and slop in the system. |

I heard some good things about Tanabe products, I guess my main concern is finding some decent under braces to make the body rigid or is that overdoing it with the stock suspension?

I would look into swaybars to get rid of any understeer first then up grade to coilovers, sticky tires then look at upgrading bracing once you have enough traction to start really flexing the cars chassis.

polyurethane bushings will be much more rigid, but in a year or two they'll crack and break under normal driving conditions. you can get crazy heavy duty rubber ones that do almost as a good a job, and last 3 times longer.
