ALright alright lets get this over with haha..
anyways as you most know i ordered a cf hood for my 98 prelude about a week after boxing day. And i was ensured it would be at my house within 3weeks or so, give or take afew days. So I happily went on my way haha. Well EZ recieved a shipment of cf hoods but about 5 or so hoods were focked and mine was one of them. So i was told that EZ would be attempting to get reimbursed by the company and a new flawless hood be shipped out to me as soon as possible. Fine, shit happens. So awhile goes by with EZ and the shipping company fighting over reimbursement for the hood. Ok anyawys time gradually gets longer and longer and i finally get my hood today. Service was great. Big thumbs up to Kevin for working hard and calling me and letting me know and being patient with me. And thanks for the lanyard as well as the compimenatry hood pins;)
One thing that bothers me is the $300 shipping insurance i put on my hood...that was hard to fork out for. So all in all, i will probably do business with EZ again but i don't think I'd have anything shipped, its too expensive and risky. |

well, it's good that kevin took the time and got the hood to you. some shops might have decided the profit wasn't worth the effort and uncertainy to fight with the supplier and just given you some or all of your cash back.
props to E-Z for coming through for a customer in a tough situation. patience is a big part of working with out-of stock orders. |

damn, it took 2.5 mths to finally get to you.
how much did you get the hood for, excluding the shipping? |

Its good to hear that EZ will support their customers like this, but 12 weeks is a big difference from about 3 initially promised. You do have to cut them slack about the damaged order, but do YOU personally think that it was really worth the wait for the price?
 To EZ though, seems like a lot more people are giving good feedback about them. |

| i hope you didn't pay anymore than $500 because Kevin called me an idiot for paying more than that. |

Correct me if i'm wrong littledan but i recall seeing a past post that you were given a deal by Kevin on the hood you are speaking of but your credit card was denied by your credit card company and that was a couple of years ago so if ludedue paid a bit more would be because of the pricing increase from VIS and other manufacturers that have increase on their product too if not more than once a year
here is the link for those of you that do not know the whole story of the CRACKED hood shipment from E-Z Motorsports cause I also had a hood in this shipment that was CRACKED and taking care of by Kevin at E-Z Motorsports  http://forums.780tuners.com/showthr...;threadid=23944

yup and Kevin did throw in a little something, something more like 2 something something 1. Sparco hood pins and yes a 2. E-Z Motorsports Lanyard a 80$ value for both that is not one or the other hehe.......... I know cause I was there at E-Z on Sunday when the boys were packing this particular hood

Guess what today was the day that Kevin and the Boyz made ur hood priority for shipment and that is what started todays Sunday at E-Z Motorsports packaged up and ship it out with like over 20 little bright FRAGILE stickers to ensure that even the BLIND can read it hahaha
Guess Kevin tried to get his G/F to help him load ur hood and she said NO cause she is only like 80 ibs. haha
So Kevin had to wait for the rest of the boyz to help him with ur hood and Kevin personally wrapped (so you'll know why it has a lot of packaging and HALF ASS wrapping hahaha) and Kevin also delivered ur hood personally
YOUR HOOD IS ON THE WAY DUDE !!!
This hood is paid out of our own SHIT HAPPENS FUNDS which wasn't enough to cover so Kevin had to fork out some of his own MOD funds from his project fund for the EF Hatch
so you'll know why if you don't see the E-Z Motorsports FLAGSHIP ride at the next SHOW :fingersx:
The Team :blue:
 Kevin really is DA MAN at E-Z Motorsports afterall he did take care of yours ludedude's hood mine's and many others in this shipment took some time i agree but in the end it all worked out and here we have some satisfied people

What I don't understand, is how come you are out a hood while EZ fights with the shipping company? It's not your fault....
Why aren't you sent a hood regardless (since you paid for it) instead of having to wait for EZ to finish dealing with the initial shipping company? |

wow reading that story seems like a play by play of exactly what happened to me when I ordered my hood.
#1 - I paid cash up front
#2 - Hood was supposed to be there in 3weeks, months went by
#2 - He told me my hood had been damaged and he had to ship it back
#3 - He told me the company would not pay for the extra shipping, and he was fighting with them for reimbursement ( :bs: )
#4 - He tells me it will costs another $250 on top of the quoted price to cover the extra "shipping"( :bs: ) making it a $1050 hood. Although he refused to show me the invoice for the shipping.
wow, that sounds like deja-vu! Can anyone say CON-ARTIST??
I guess the lesson learned is, if EZ says they can get you a hood, take Kevin's quote, add $300 and that will be the eactual price he'll make you pay, of course he won't tell you that until 3 months after you've paid in full.
Keep up the good work boys! |

I agree, fighting with the shipping company is their problem! They should have got on the phone the next day with their supplier and had another hood shipped out to you pronto! You don't hold onto a customer’s money while you sort out your own problems.
Even if they took a hit and made no profit on the hood they should have kept their word...
Anyone that has ever received a damaged shipment knows how long it takes for a claim to be processed.
"Fuk it, if we have to wait so does the customer!"
Nice!:thumbsdow |

| $300 for shipping insurance? Seem like EZ is hard at work ripping people off where ever they can. What did they hood end up costing you? |
|
|
| LudeDude19 |
hood was $638 I do blieve
shipping was @ $100 and then 300 for shipping insurance
i am pretty sketched out abou tthe insurnace tho..might've been a scam |
|

| gerrycurl |
| so half the hood was insurance? i thought insurance should be alot less than the whole item itself. thats like paying 20,000 for insurance that only covers 25g's. why couldnt you find a place in BC for a hood anyways? you got raped on insurance |
|
|
| twinturbo |
On E-Bay........shipping insurance on a $80 item is only like $2 all the way accross the world!
I realize the hood is a little higher risk, but that's ridiculas!! |

| i got my hood 2 years ago at speedtech for $540 including tax, shipping and insurance. :dunno: |

| I suggest to go back to EZ and ask for an actual reciept that has the shipping insurance on. If he cannot provide it, I'm sure there are government agencies would love to hear all about it. |

USPS has insurance for an $800 item listed as $9.60 for items shipped to Canada. I can't see any other company charging much more than that, especially not $300.
Your receipt should look like this:
Hood - $638
Shipping - $100
Insurance - $10
Gaping hole in ass - $290 |
|

EZ Conned you. It's a 'scam' that a bunch of companies in LA were caught doing as well.
They would get the customers money, and make up some bs excuse and come up with a 'back end' fee (ie 'shipping insurance' in this case). I'll try to find the link.
Also, Canada Post charged me $5.50 for a package that was insured for $1000 |

Ask EZ who they shipped through, or better yet phone the supplier and ask who they ship through. Contact the shipping company, or their website and get a shipping quote based on size/weight and ask for insurance and base it off the value, which if you take worst case, is what EZ would have charged you.
In almost all cases, insurance should be a fraction of the total value of the item since its an extremely small minority of parcels which get damaged. |

Any package I've received, whether it's been greyhound, ups, or a local courier company ALWAYS has a waybill on it. That'll give you the shipping information.
Call up the company as if you were EZ shipping to yourself in BC (In case it costs more to go from BC - EDM than EDM - BC).
Voila - they'll give you the shipping/insurance charge. |

exact same thing happened to me when I bought a body kit through street gear imports years ago..........
Only there was no extra charge for me, the guys at the shop covered any costs involved with the mishap
I would insist on seeing a receipt! |

It's just a total scam, Kevin's whole thing is he promises to match anybody's quote. When he can't truly match it this is what he does.
When I bought mine, garageworks in calgary told me $800 shipped, landed done deal. Kevin said he could match that no problem. Then after I paid in full he jacked up the price $250 at the last minute, to make his profit.
I had forms from the agency in town here that handles that stuff, can't remember what they're called, but I met with an agent and she said I could definately start a claim against him if I wanted.
I even brought them into the store to show Kevin and tell him I wanted to see an invoice from grounddesigns for the $250 "restocking/shipping fee" he claimed they charged him because the damaged hood had to be returned, or else I'd take him to court.
His reply was his "investors" would fire him if he began showing financial documents to customers, and after 45minutes of talking in circles he wouldn't give me a reciept or anything, and when I said I'd go to court he just gave me a shady smile, like "whatever, i got your cash...good luck", probably because he knew my reciept was a scribble on the back of a business card.
In the end I wanted my hood, didn't want to goto court and wait forever for my cash, I just decided to pay the extra 3 bills and make it my mission to keep as many people out of that con-shop as possible. Then I found 780tuners...lol, payback's a bitch! |

| it seems like really a mix and match of reviews for that place. but again you shouldnt justicfy your opinion of a place without going there yourself. Ive went there a few times and Kevin seemed helpful at the questions i've asked but i didnt order anything so i wouldnt know if i woulda got screwed or not outta $.Best bet is when ordering something, is to bring up situations like this to see what their reactions will be and precautions they will take and make sure there are no hidden fees before you put money down |
