| Will a turbo from the 2.2L mazda mx-6 first gen fit into a second gen mazda mx-6? without modifing to many things? |

you just take the turbo out of one engine compartment and put it in another right?
:P |

| not that simple... first if the car the turbo is going into is n/a... well youve got some work ahead of you... not that simple... aside from the compression issue and well lets just say you will wreck your engine... if it is turbocharged previously... then you can use the stock oil lines... intercooler... manifold... etc... you gotts let us know more info though if you want everyone to help you out... |

| if i remember right i think that there is a kit to do this but i don't remember where i saw it. I don't think that it was too expencive either. I will take a look a bit later don't have time at the moment. |

Yes you are correct that if the car was an NA that it is a quite involved job to turbo it which requires a lot of parts. But if he does end up turboing the car he is not going to wreck the engine, even with the high compression. He just needs to keep the boost at around 5-7 Psi and the internals will be fine. |

| There is a company by the name of Thomas Knight Turbos that makes a single and a twin turbo kit for your car. Go check them out. |

| yeah... just dont crank the boost... apply it according to the compression in the cylinders... |
|

OHHHH! don't listen to those guys! They don't know what they're talking about!
That FORD engine is the strongest thing out there! It's a TANK, it's INDESTRUCTABLE!!! Crank the boost and you'll never regret it! That head gasket will easily take the strain!
Now take everything i just said and reverse it!
And then sell the FORD/MAZDA and get a silvia!
Just joking around, hopefully you get it sorted out! The MX-6 has some nice lines to the body, it's a sexy little car. Good Luck! |

| yeah... i dont know too much about mazda but your suggesting cranking the boost on an n/a block? thats cool if you think it will take it... ford does make tough mothers... |
|

| ^^ I was just joking about the strength in that ford block! ^^ |

Just a suggestion - if you want the hardcore guys to reply, they only check the 780Tuners tech area
The mods are more picky there too. |

| Forgot to mention that i bought a MX-6 few months ago shes just been sitting in the garage collecting dust. But i was thinking of turboing it and instead of buying a whole new turbo which i was thinking of. I could use a old turbo from a 1st gen MX-6 the engine thats in the car right now is going to be swapped out with a 2.5L KL-ZE J-spec engine I will have it sitting in my garage in about 2 months hopefully if everything goes to plan. So now im not a pro at putting in a turbo what exact engine components will I have to replace so the internals can handle lets say example 10 psi of boost. Oh and the tranny is getting a clutch kit so it can handle the power of the new engine (ACT Street Performance Clutch Kit) Another upgrade will be the ECU to the new engine, Anywho if any of you know some good websites to go to check out turbo kits for the MX-6 that would help alot, and thank you chrome dragon for that website il check it out. |

actually those motors are pretty strong.
I've seen a few stock block Probes make close to 350whp. |

| Stock internals to be changed, I'd say, would be pistons and rods. Get forged, low compression dished pistons, and forged rods. They'll take a lot more heat and stress than stock. I don't think 10psi will create a need for a stronger crank. |

| dont forget about feul... take the pump from something like a fc rx7 or supra... from another turbo car to serve sufficient feul to the engine... or you will be in quite a pickle... |
