Cool...

WOW. I'm surprised everything went white hot that quick with no load on the engine.

And that they just shut it down without slow cooling at idle for a few minutes.

energie
thats cool.

The mechanics usually get together at the end of the year and do this to the old engines.Must be nice not to have to worry about destroying suuch an expensive engine.

I think 250km/hr + winds help cooling a little.

That is crazy, how everything in the engine can hold up for such a long time during a race...

love how hot the mufflers get

SketchifisT
that is cool , F1 engine are just unreal they have such ahuge power band and each of thos engines only has to last 2 races so if they have one kickin bout at the end , may as well kill it caus ei dont think i would trust it to make it to the end of the 3rd

bigmack000

What mufflers? Those are exhaust manifolds there isnt mufflers as far as I know of in f1 engines.
Only time I ever seen that other than turbos was on a 350 ss trucks exhaust after a couple stages of nitrous lol. They said thats how the gt90 manifolds got and they couldnt figure out how to make it so the manifolds dont melt the car around it. How much juice is in those f1's?

All F1 engines can produce more than 780 bhp and it can exceed revs of 17,000 rpm.

The Prediction for 2007 F1 engines, they will break the 1000hp mark.
I also heard that Honda wants to be the first to break the 1000hp mark.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
