what kinda van? If its got an electric fuel pump chances are the fuel pump is burnt up. No gasolino = no cooling of the pump.

that would be my guess, or he isn't getting fuel pressure, due to it running dry.

Engine not turning over wouldn't be a fuel problem. Try boosting it. Did he forget the lights on when he went to get gas?

a) what type of van
b) there are a few things that can go wrong, your regulator could be gone lol good luck trying to figure that one out , or he just burnt the pump out trying to turn the engine over and not having the knowledge to turn the key on and off to allow the pump to cycle through its on off cycle to allow the lines to fill back up with fuel.

as i tell everyone at work GOOD LUCK

Boost the battery Put the gas to the floor before you turn it over then start it hold the pedal untill the van starts. I hope one of us helps.

Possible that the fuel filter is clogged too especially if you run out of gas because you suck all of the shit from the bottom of the tank into the fuel line.

Anyone know what the hell happened in the end?
