They were talking to Supra man, not you.

I have an Apex'i turbo timer and I've never had any problems with it. Plus it's small and subtle, so it doesn't attract a lot of attention.

This little unit.

OK, Sorry. :dunno:

(So many rules, so little reading.)

I agree, go with the Apex TT
small, discrete, does its job well, easy to program & use (if you know how to use a VCR/stereo/cell phone....you'll figure this one out easy)

I purchased mine from Matrix along with the installation harness, makes for a cleaner install.

  from me :D

It cost me ~$200 at the time, not sure what it goes for now...:dunno:

Here are some pics of my interior, it is the vertical silver piece that is wedged between the gauge cluster & center vents
I didn't use any adhesives or mounting hardware, it is held in place by "friction" :D

;) ...you'll find out soon enough

REFLUX: thanks for the pictures! i love how it's so small but i still need to decide on new or used and Apex i or HKS

also how long do you set a timer for? and when would should i set it...always after driving?:dunno: forgive me...i'm a noob when it comes to turbo cars:(

HeavyEarly87T
If you spend the bux, it will calc the time needed based on the driving you have done. Others you can set for any time amount. The average is 2 min, but you can set it buy hand for more when you have been going hard on a hot summer day.

S20o0:

It really depends on how much you use your turbo.
Majority of my driving around the city, I don't use the turbo. Since I never go into boost there is no need to cool it down.

A better way to cool down your turbo is to just take it easy for the last 2-5 minutes of driving because most factory turbos have some form of water cooling, letting your car sit & idle to "cool" down the turbo isn't the best way.
This is because when you are idling, there is not a lot of air flowing past your radiator, so your water temp goes up.
Using hot water/antifreeze to "cool down" your turbo doesnt really make sense right?

So my suggestion is:
-For the last 2-5 minutes of driving (ex. once you hit residential) stay off the boost and take it easy. Your turbo will have had enough cooling that way.

Of course using the TT is better than NOT using it. If you must use it, I let the car idle for a good 5-10 minutes after hard driving (such as when I'm @ a road course). If you were just sporadically boosting here & there, I'd say 2-4 minutes would be plenty.

To tell you the truth, I dont' even use my TT regularly anymore, I only use it when I'm in a rush & need to leave my car momentarily to buy something but don't want to just turn her off and let her cook.

Hope that helps

Blitz makes a nice unit w/ a built in boost / peak / warning guage if that intrests you.

Check it out.

I got my HKS Type 0 off ebay..
Work's the way it's suppose to and as for price compared to local shops couldn't be any better...
