Parking Ticket Question... - Click HERE for Original Thread

Qoo
Hi guys, my dad was issue an ticket parking in a private zone. which he claims there were no sign in sight except the yellow line on the ground. Which was cover with snow at that day.
so I was going to setup a court day and do whatever right. BUT....
He heard from a co-worker, which claims that you can write a letter to appeal without appearing in the court. he claims he did it couple months ago and got out.
And when I ask where should the letter address to, the co-worker reply : "I forgot"
my dad had been bugging me to write and then send the letter, and ask me to found out the address.

could anyone please verify if his co-worker saying is true? you can write a letter and not appear in court ? and if so, where should the letter to be address to.

Please reply if you know anything about this....he had been bugging me for a month now.....:( and sorry about the engrish.

well you can PAY your tickets online now adays, so you can probably get that kind of info on the city of edmonton website.

I think the back of the ticket has that info.

Qoo
thank you, but my dad throw the ticket away since he is mad.
so I have no ticket on hand except this letter saying I have to pay by (date).
I offer to pay the ticket but he had to fight the ticket.

o man, I wish I weren't like that when I am old.

Since it was him who parked there and it was him who was issued the ticket tell him to figure out where to write the letter or do whatever and to write the letter himself.

So he wants to appeal a City of Edmonton parking ticket?

You know, I've never read of anyone successfully doing that.....

mwdguy
he parked where there was no parking allowed ... doesnt matter if snow was covering the yellow curb.

TrevorK: I don't quite understand? never?
at least I did when at the court, the ticket guy didn't show up. was that a win ?

anyway, he finally give up and go to court.
thanks for the input guys.
