What mods have you done over the winter? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Insomniac
Just wondering if any of you have done anything cool over the winter?

What are you all planning on doing with your cars? (Car shows, drag racing, autox, etc)

oldraven
Yeah. I put the battery back in Sunday. :D Actually, she fired up right off the bat, and ran extremelly smooth. I'll be putting the 6" K&N cone on any day here, and bypassing the BCS until I can get a manual boost control valve. I'll leave the KS plugged in though, so I don't pop anything.

Before the weather clears up I hope to have finished...
1. New tial 38mm wastegate
2. Reseal oil leaks
3. new 55 lbhr injectors
4. new pads and rotors
5. new charge piping
6. general cleaning of shiney parts under the hood.
7. the n/a 944 got camber plates and lowering springs

Just need some better weather to work in the garage

Nightstalker
I made my car faster.. I will bring it out once the weather is nice again and show you guys whats different.

I bought rims. And have tried twice unsuccessfully to save up for suspension. Oh well.:dunno:

Weird, I was just thinking about starting this thread. :dunno:

My list:

- Refiberglassed and repainted inner parts of sideskirts
- Touched up and repainted front kit
- New 225/40/R18 Falken ZE512 tires on the back
- Carbon vinyl dash kit(in progress 40% done)
- Carbon fiber-looking shift boot
- Polished headlights so the haze and UV damage is gone
- Near-full tune up, dumped and flushed all fluids, changed plugs, etc etc

Not as much as I wanted to get done but certain other commitments come first.

Left to do before it hits the street:

- Clean/wash interior and exterior
- Reseal External wastegate
- Few small minor odds and ends

blown_mr2

Get yourself a propane heater. I got a huge one that will heat up to 3000sq. feet. Propane indoors has its downsides, but just get a carbon monoxide detector and keep a door/window open. It got me through the winter, I was out in the garage even in -20C with this heater and I've seldom hit over 90ppm.

I haven't done a thing over winter, just stock pile parts. I hope to get things started in the next couple of weeks...

I actually bought one, but I just don't find it enjoyable working in the cold... at that's really what it's about. I'll insulate in the next couple years, then it'll be much better. Right now the garage is a little too big to be heated with the propane heater, but it is nice to warm the tools up over it.

I'm also not very well "insulated" myself so I get cold pretty quick.

Swapped in a shorter diff and full rear suspension from an '88.

Before the track opens the car should receive a Walbro 255lph pump, intercooler, larger throttlebody (with intake porting to match up to it), rising rate fuel pressure reg., and if I'm feeling saucy some Suspension Techniques springs(along with the front '88 suspension, it's 10mm wider on each side). The car should also be having a fair bit of weight torn out of it along with a nice lightweight racing seat to be dropped in on racing days.

Hopefully once it has cleared up I'll also be able to get a bit of body work done on the car, install the few aero bits and throw some paint over the ugliness.:D

All that and tires.....lots and lots of half used tires to paint the pavement of Bud Park with rubber.

Can't wait to see the bodywork done and that "custom" door molding removed aka ducttape
