Its obvious why to those who met me in person that I am a different duck or a loser if you will. If my presence to this forum is affecting the forum quality let me know here and please feel free to put me down all you want if I dont belong I dont belong. Its pretty simple , I joined to make some new friends and learn stuff about tuners. I guess I ask "stupid" questions but if I dont know much about something how am I supposed to ask?

from what I heard he was at a meet and most of the guys wouldn't talk to him because his ride isn't an import. A lot of the guys on here are way to close minded when it comes to new people and non-import rides this will backfire on them one day as the people they chastise now will be the ones with the answer that they need later.
some people need to consider that what may be common knowledge to themselves others may not know, the only way for them to learn is to ask questions and for those with the knowledge to answer the questions. |

Agreed. And for some reason, people have a real hate on for the Grand Am. :dunno: I don't see it being any different from any other FWD 4-pot out there, that seem to be extremely popular on here.

Thanks for every opinion positive or negative. I was told before I attended a meet that all are welcome then I got wierd vibes at my first meet. Dont get me wrong I met some nice guys but as the group it was split apart into sorta catagories.
I really want to see and ask questions about your cars in person but when I get ragged on in the forum its discouraging in person. Agressive posts make me think someone may be mad or resentfull and in person that could be kinda dangerous makes me nervous. I know you guys will say "you got nothing to worry about" but how do I know for sure?
This post may have been stupid to alot of members here as the poll is showing and some comments are revealing but it did bring out some important issues that are now in the open. I dont want a flame war , just for people to realise that we live in the same city most of us and we not only chat on interweb but meet in person as well.
I feel better for getting this off my chest I hope you all understand where Im comming from. I also want to note that this post also helped me find out more about you guys and your sense of humor Im catching on (slowly) and I appologize for taking some of it the wrong way.
As for looking for attention you couldnt be more right and it worked now people are more aware of each others opinions Im sure. |

I completly agree. Take the comments on here for what they are worth. I haven't mad it to one of the meets yet but I hope to soon. I am sure everyone will make fun of the 3g and it's an import haha or pretends to be anyway. I vote to stay.

Hmmmm, I used to attend the meets regularly a couple years back, but haven't been to one lately. So many new peeps I haven't met......looks like I'll be a newb all over again.

| Don't worry I haven't gone to one yet. I'm usually at the Civic Evolutions or Heatscore meets. Mainly because I know most of the people there. But like everybody else it takes actually going to a lot of meets before you feel comfortable with everybody, and them feeling comfortable with you. Basically if he doesn't give up and keeps on going he'll feel better about his place in the whole 780 scene. Even though he drives a silly Grand Am......:p |

I disagree. I couldn't care less who makes it. My problem with the Grand Am is the same one I have for the Toyota Camry. It's just a boring car for people who don't care about DRIVING.
As for the meets, bring a friend with you so you don't look like a dork who shows up alone, stands there waiting for a big group hug and then walk away disappointed when you don't get one. This isn't directed at MarkGASE, it's just a general statement.
Life isn't like the internet. You don't show up at a parking lot and say, "Hi! I've been lurking around this parking lot for a while now and figured I'd get out of my car. I drive a bla bla bla...... ". And then everyone pipes up and says, "Good to have you here!", "Welcome!", "I have the same fart pipe on my car!".:D |
