Funny , that what was happeneing with my sytem too lol but you had 2 gain controlls right? One remote Bass boost controller and the one built in the amp right? That could get confusing when your on the spot lol I understand totally. I gots some decent tunes from ireland "waterdance , this is trance" and the quality of the highs and lows is amazing. Your system will rock the casbah with that shit on. Also got the old "Dangerous Minds" soundtrack oldschool bass is where its at. Dre when he sounded like a kid lol. |

heh ya.. this car doesn't like it when I crank up the gain. I only have 1 actual gain, on the amp, I have a EBC(External bass control) it acts like a gain, but not it, it allows me to adust the lowpass cross over in the amp. I have somewhat of a hoghpass, but thats only adjustable on the amp.
I have my sine sweep in the car too.. heh... I played that reall oud next to some foot patrol cops on whyte.. they just looks at us funny, and I did it at my dealership.. the salepeople just started looking up.
I'll see if I can prep my spl box this week... plus i think I might drop in my red-top inthe trunk too. |

Forgive me for saying "Over my fucken head!" What the hell is a red-top? Id look it up but since you mentioned Im curious is it a 2nd high volt battery? Just guessing here so help me out ok? |

| Red top is a optima coil cell batt, it's just a regular batt, but better design. My stocker is about a 450cca and 25min reserver,the redtop is a 1100cca(I think) and 125 min reserve. |

| Nope 12V, Caps don't have higher voltage outputs. The reason why caps are rated at 20 or 24v, is cause if you over voltage them, say a 12V cap and you put 14.4V into it they blow up. |

A cap helps your charging system. Basically it takes your alt a second or two to kick out more more amps, and your batt normally handles the power til the alt kicks in, a cap is very much like a battery, cept a battery reserve time is measured in minutes and or hours where as a cap it's more like milliseconds.
A cap will stop your headlights from flashing IF your alt has a higher output than your draw. In my case my amp will pull over 150amps and my alt only puts out 106amps. A cap would actually hurt my system as it adds something else for my alt to charge.
