Need A New Battery! - Click HERE for Original Thread

Xx D-MAN xX
Looks like 4 years and my factory honda battery is toast. I don't blame the battery, when it's been on a trickle charger for almost 2 years (6 months at a time)...

So, I need to get a new battery. My choices are a replacement honda battery, interstate or opitma.

Has anyone had an interstate battery? Like or dislike?

I've had an optima battery before and I was very impressed. Might consider spending the extra cash and getting another. Does anyone know where these are sold in edmonton?

SilverNeonRacer
I bought my optima are Wallymart. the CT coilcells spec are better.. i kinda wish i woulda got one of the CT ones. My optima was in an old diesel truck so i really didn't notice much of a difference.

What do you mean CT? Canadian Tire?

littledan
hey darcy i have an energizer battery made by johnson controls, same company as honda na oem. if you want it i'll hook you up cheap.

TrevorK
Optima is at Walmart, Costco, and Canadian Tire (Rebadged as "spiral cell").

Hands down better than any of the "normal" batteries.

How old is it? Is there any remaining warranty? Has it ever been drained?

I might check out walmart to see if they have the optima batteries...

SilverNeonRacer
I got mine from the clareview Walmart, cost me like $164.95+gst and battery tax... or sumthing, was $195 including everything and a new set of wipers. But I got the biggest one they had... physically and CCA wise.

silverTEG
do they sell the honda "skinny" style optima's at wal-mart?

twinturbo
Is there a diference between the different colour's?
I think there is yellow, red, blue. Make a difference?
Does anyone know if they make really skinny ones like OEM JDM Japanese batterys?

SilverNeonRacer
Yes the colors do make a diff a red top is best for starting and general car use, i think a yellow is deep cycle, more for stereo comps with engine off, and blue i can't remember

jeff92lude
i think blue is marine if i remember correctly...darcy go with the optima......except they are bright colors and might spoil your 'clean' look

I had a yellow top which I used to run my stereo and a red top under the hood to start the engine and so forth.

SilverNeonRacer
If you run a red top and a yellow top you should run an isolator.
