I am not sure. The only dealership I would trust is Sun Toyota.
Mayfield...... What a Joke
Kingsway Lexus Toyota..... Can not get their stories straight.
Sun Toyota Just right. =)
Another option is Wilsons Auto Tech. I have never been there, but they supposedly charge less than the Toyota Shops. They are supposedly all trained Toyota Technicians.
I do most of my work on my Supra my self. Only take it to the dealerships or service shops for wheel alignments or when I had my HKS exhaust installed.
Hope this helps.

Hi Stealth,
I am happy to hear that you have had a good experience at Mayfield Toyota. I am sure there are people that have had good experiences with them.
Every time I go in to them it is very obvious that they do not want my business. I do not know why? Even from a simple booking of an apointment for a wheel alignment 2 weeks in advance, the receptionist said (I do not book appointments for Saturdays. If you want an appointment for a Saturday you need to come here on Tuesday.) WTF
My latest fiasco was they wanted to charge me $20.00 for a battery test on my Supra. The battery I had bought from them 2 years ago. It was the premium 84 Month, stored inside on my work bench during the winter. The battery would not hold a charge. I had this tested at another shop for free every year before I put it back in the car. They wanted to charge me that non refundable fee for something that is covered under warranty, and the battery is out of the car. When I questioned the fee, the lady at the service counter said "Well I can not take your word that the battery is not holding a charge and we need to test it. For this there is a fee". It has just been stupid little stuff like that is the reason I refuse to deal with Mayfield. I have a billion more stories similar to that. I took it to Sun Toyota and they tested it for free, and replaced my battery with no questions asked. Now on a positive side, Tom in Parts has been good. It just seems that their service side does not know the meaning of the word service. But hey, maybe that's just me.
As for the hourly rate, I believe it is about $90.00/ hr. You can also check under the yellow or white pages for Toyota Repair shops.
Ohhh.... I almost forgot. There is Silverstone Automotive on the south side, however I do see alot of Supras parked out there evry now and then, but I do not trust them. They wanted $9,000.00 to do my headgasket and they supply the parts. Yeah right! I have heard good and bad things about them. But that is the same with any repair shop.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike for your experience.
I actually called Silverstone, and asked for an estimate. His estimate was between 1/2 hour to 20 hours worth of labour. With that being said I was not keen on going there.
Kingsway Toyota, on a other hand the parts guy there, tried to sell me 800 dollar axles for my car, and i explained/argued that i could get performance axles for that much.
In the future i will try Sun Toyota, just its kinda far away for me right now.
Thanks again for your input.

Hi Sam,
I am happy to share my experience with you. Talk to Ron in Parts. He is the Parts Manager there and he has hooked me up with many hard to find parts. Also Marnie in Service has been excellent. When you talk to them, tell them that Mike Nikolai The one with the Red Supra sent you.
I wrote a review on them on the www.suprasport.com website forum. I buy all my performance parts through Supra Sport. I love dealing with them. They are in the Still Water MN. They mainly cater to the MKIII crowd, but they have some aftermarket parts that will fit other vehicles too. IE Boost controllers, BOV. Things like that.
http://www.suprasport.com/mbbs2/for...124&posts=2
I hope you get what you are looking for soon. There is also a good variety of places for used parts too. Hondatoy is not bad. www.hondatoy.com. Black Gold in Nisku is alright. They used to be really good, then their service tanked, now it is appears to have gotten better. http://www.blackgoldimportautoparts.com/
Another good source is www.car-part.com They are great for locating any part for any vehicle anywhere in North America. They give a listing of who has what, where they are located, and pricing in Canadian and USD.
I hope this helps Sam. Sorry for the long winded reply.

heh Kingsway...
My sister's BF traded in a 82 tercel on a 88 MR2 back in 99, the MR2 was great.. cept I handed his ass to him sooo many times in my Swift GS. then there was the issue that if you drove it on the highway.. you couldn't slow down cause as soon as you did, it would overheat. My sis and her BF got stuck in Red deer, Alberta Beach.... kingsway cept insisting they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
So after about 3weeks of BS.. they wanted to return the car and get the tercel back... ok that went fine... cept for that when they got the tercel back the #1 cylinder wasn't firing. well below 2000rpm it wouldn't fire.. so if you hit the gas to go off a light you had to pin it otherwise it would take forever to get up to speed, but once #1 cylinder kicked in.. twas like nitrous or Vtec or something a perverbial kick inthe pants. And the dealership wouldn't do anything about it.
I was in there Checking out celica's back when the new style GTS came out, I was wanting out.. they wouldn't even acknowledge I was in the show room.
Recently i went back cause I had 30min to kill waiting for computer parts and wanted to check out a new Tacoma and didn't wanna drive all the way across town as I was in the north side anyhow.... I roll up in the 02 Neon R/T.. so by no means a rust bucket or hunk of crap, I look all professional... and The recepsionist finally noticed I was there after about 5-10min. And then I finally got sales person to ask some questions.
So I may go there to window shop, but i sure as hell ain't buying anything fom there. |

Hi 2HIGH~ PSI,
I am just calling it as it is with Mayfield Toyota. I do not make this crap up. I am happy you have had flawless service from Mayfield. I on the other hand have come in countless times in the past willing to hand over buckets of money and they do not want my business. I even bought the car off of them for crying out loud.
When I went in a few years ago to get a quote to do a headgasket on my 91 Supra Turbo, I spoke to some lady who essentially freaked on me telling me I should sell my car as it is not worth fixing. I am sorry but if I am willing to spend $5,000.00 or $15,000.00 to fix my ride that is my own business and book me in. I do not walk into a dealership asking to to get my car serviced right away for something that I can not do my self. That is unreasonable and unrealistic. I always book 2 weeks in advance. This lady has not seen my car and is making assumptions based that I am an idiot and I can not afford to fix it. Everytime I leave Mayfield Toyota I leave very insulted. My family is all Toyota Dad 97 Avalon, mom (had a 96 Corolla) all of which were bought brand new and ordered fromthe factory. They will not touch Mayfield with a 10 foot pole as they have ALL had the same experience as I. Even if they were the last dealership in Canada, I would not reccomend them nor deal with them. I can understand one or two bad experiences as they happen, but everytime I come in, it is always the same same thing. I personally think they are all idiots and do not know what they are talking about, with the exception of Tom in parts. I have filled out many of their feedback forms, left messages for the manager, but to this day no one has contacted me. Oh well, They have lost out on a large opprotunity to make money off me. I just went to Sun Toyota and spend countless sums of money there. They were more than willing to help me. But I am happy you have had a good experience with them 2HIGH~PSI.

i am not disagreeing with you, i believe that there have been people that have had bad experiences with them, but it's just like anything, some people have a good experience some people have bad. Myself on the other hand, actually went to sun toyota originally to purchase the 4runner in 1999 and sun toyota couldnt give as good a deal to me, as mayfield could,(darryl cote was the sales person, no longer working there) and because of the service and experience i had with them, i purchased a 2nd vehicle through them. (tony miceili was the sales person, and currently still works there). The people have always been friendly and very flexible in their availablitly and most of the time have a coutesy car available for my use.
Other backround info that might affect experience:
The vehicles were not "purchased" but leased. Im not sure if this would make a difference, but as a dealership, they might be more inclined to impress a purchaser with a lease car vs owned. This i am not sure, and do not want to make assumptions.
Im sorry that you have had a bad experiences or many, because i find them to be pretty exeptional in their operations. |

Hi 2HIGH~PSI
I agree with you. Everyone has had good experiences and bad experiences with different dealerships. I was adding my experience with the ongoing gong show with them.
I am not certain if leasing a vehicle would have a greater impact on the service received as apposed to straight out purchasing. That is an interesting point you raised. I would be curious to see if that is the case. I would hope that they would treat you the same if you were to purchase or lease the vehicle.
Perhaps I may be on of the rare few that continues to get the wrong people at Mayfield Toyta in the Service Dept? Who knows. :dunno: The fellow that I bought the Supra from (Pat Hannagan) whom is no longer there, provided me with good service. Although somethings about the transaction and documents "dissapearing" made me a little suspicious. IE) The inspection on the vehicle that they did a few days prior to me buying the car. I have just dealt with Parts and Service from then.
But I am happy to hear that you had recieved excellent sercice in the past, and continue to do so. Perhaps people whom visit Mayfield in the Future may not have my luck! :)

Hi j268,
From what I recall, my experience with them was deceant. I do not have anything that jumps out and screams a good nor bad experience with them. That is a good thing. :) They remain neutral on my list. I have heard many good things about them on all aspects Sales, Service and Parts. If some one has a good review about them post it.

I also had a bad experience with Mayfield, especially the service department, they seriously seems like they could care less if i bring my car to them or not...which doesn't seems like a good way to do things to me...so yeah... just my 2 cents =P
