^^ I never owned a cell phone , all I want is pay as you go with free recieved calls. Whats the best priced phone (cheapest) that will do that?

redbaron303
I don't think any service gives you free rcvd calls.

I did FIDO and they're fine IMO, $80/month for unlimited calling (local) anytimes.

REFLUX
I recommend Fido or check out Virgin Mobile (at any Chapters/HMV)

ive been with rogers for 7 years now..and i like them quite a bit, also being with them for so long gives me a little leverage with plans and new phone opportunities, but i do receive calls for free...even long distance...:dunno: (i have a plan though, not pay-as-you-go)

'tis true, there are still people out there that have never owned a cell. I've been with Telus for ~5 years. While they haven't been the best, I really don't have too much to complain about. I got on a $25 unlimited weekends/evenings and 100 free anytime minutes plan (plus voicemail and caller id) about 3 years back and I've been locked in at that price ever since. With their BS system access fees and what not my bill usually comes out to about $35-40/month depending on how much I end up going over the 100 free anytime minutes.

Ya I never owned my own cell phone :dunno: I like my privacy lol. Its a step further away from the boss when I need to escape. Plus I seen my friends get them stuck to there heads with no way to remove them.

My one buddy has a pay as you go service on his phone that has unlimited recieved calls when using the roaming number.
As long as he keeps buying a $5 dollar card every month the recieved calls are free.

if you want to go pay and talk go telus....for a $25 phone card you can choose in the options menu free evening and weekends for 30 days. i can help ya through it if ya want.

i like using this cause when you run out of minutes...you just can't use your phone and theres no hidden fees. although i do spend like 75-100 a month on my phone. but thats cause i load up the extended evening and weekends and talk on my phone all day and buy all kinds of "special packages" on text messages and shat.

you have to buy the phone straight out though. if i find my old phone (kyocera blade phone) i'll give it to you for like $5

I'm on telus pay and talk, I don't use my phone a ton so I find this is the cheapest route. I used to be on a monthly plan, but I never used all my minutes, yet I was still paying around $35 a month with service charges and everything. right now with pay and talk I pay anywhere from $10-$25 a month on average, depending what I buy for airtime (just minutes, or evenings and weekends..
Its nice not to have any contract or service charges etc., and telus has very good coverage, theres not many places I haven't been able to make a call from.

i got mine under a corporate plan through bell, and it's 20$ per month for 250 anytime minutes, free cid, free voicemail, and no activation fee, as well as better long distance rates than without the corporate plan, among other small tidbits, but the guy worked it out to be about 27$ per month with the system access fee, which is still pretty damn good...

and i got a 400$ phone for 100, cause i went with the three year contract...
