Don't know if i started this Thread in the right place but here goes.
I'm pretty sure everyone has worked with someone who is really incompetent. I'm currently working for an international computing company in Edmonton (don't want to mention names never know if anyone on the board works at the same place lol) as a Systems Analyst.
Anyways to start things off I know this guy who thinks he's a big shot manager type of person he isn't he's just a Team Lead. He works in a different dept. than me handling HR related information so thank god I don't have to deal with the BS but a good friend of mine works with him. That dept. tends to get a lot of calls regarding policies and procedures on various HR aspects and they have a lot of confidential material. So if someone calls verification is required. Well to show how stupid and condescending this guy is just the other day a caller was requesting confidential information on another person my friend wouldn't give the caller the information. So of course the caller wants to escalate. Mind you i forgot to mention this "Team lead" makes 60+K a year he spends majority of his time sitting attending 2 hours in conference calls and the rest of the time surfing cnn.com (He lucked out in having the a self sufficient team) As the story goes he gets pissed off that he needs to stop surfing cnn.com and handle this escalation. And guess what he does?! You got it… he gives the caller all the pertinent information that he wanted salary, health care number, home address you name it he gave it and this is after he had a 1 hour meeting with the team about handling confidential material and not giving it out to anyone. Then to top it off he states to my friend "If you want to be in my position (pointing to his chair) you need to know who the big shots are and go with the flow" so in short he looks at the status of the callers and if they are high ranking management he can break policies and procedures.
All i can say is that thing guy is a character seen him and dealt with him on occasion a few times. There is a lot more but too much write. I'm sure a lot of you guys got some interesting stories so post up. |

I hope you realize he's right - being a consultant at one point I've worked for many, many different companies and I've seen first hand how the managers make policy, but then expect to be treated better. |

| Ok i have a good one i work for a warehouse driving a forklift. So when i go on first break park my lift and walk to the break room get in sit down one of the "os so very smart" co-worker walks in all pissed off kicking the chairs. Im thinking wtf is his problem anyways he kicks one of the chairs into one of the freshly painted walls in there. Puts a nice big hole in the wall and im just like ah your dumb thinking to my self so like i said the walls have fresh paint he touches the wall. When theres a sign that says "WET PAINT" no further than 2 feet from him! I get of break go back to work and I see him moving a full skid of Jumbo Carrots around 55 Lb a bag and what does the dummy do dumps the whole skid. How did this happen he went around a turn too fast with a skid that weighs 2200 Lbs at 7 1/2 feet tall I almost just want to run him over with my forklift it would be a quick and painless death him 200-210 me 175+ the forklift 8900 Lb splat  |

| I used to work at a car dealership (No names) and one manager there, he was such a fat asshole. All he did was make fun of other people, instead of helping someone he'd sit back and "Admire the show". All those things and he would ABUSE the SHIT out of customer cars such as drift around corners and spin tires on 300ZX TT's and all that. But this guy was some pathetic looking. I saw him one day, and he had food stuck IN his face, not on it, IN IT! His cheeks were so chubby, there were little pieces of food in his face. I thought I saw it all until he walks up to a garbage can and removes (no joke) 2 handfuls of candy wrappers from his pocket! Ah well, I used to joke with the other guys about this because after all, he deserved it. He did the same to everyone else. |

I run a small detail shop at a car dealership we have many departments. Theres this guy that sales hired to be a lot lizard. He was nice at first but turned to be a mean disrespectfull person towards everybody. He butts into conversations and worse yet puts in his $0.02. His 2 cents involves disrespecting customers and thinks he knows everything and shows you how to break things in the process. Everything he touches breaks every one around him is annoyed but too nice to say anything.
I pulled him aside after he contradicted some advice I gave to some long time customers. I told him straight up what I thought and we had witnesses that just stood jaws wide open for awhile till we finished arguing. I told him at first in a nice way that it would be more "respectfull" if he minded his own buisness and let me do what I get paid for without interupting and contradicting. He did not listen so I became very unprofessional and got some spit in his eye explaining louder than him so he would listen a little better. Everyone agreed. I have been nice as pie to him ever since and he has never contradicted anyone ever again. Now to get him to work  he thinks its a DF job. I mean how hard is it to keep lines of cars straight?
Good thread to vent in about work thanks.

Try this mind job on him/her
The next time you have the opportunity to shake his hand, or say you want to "pretend make up" with him, shake his hand.
Place your thumb on top of his thumb and then say somewhat dissappointed "Oh, you're an underthumb" naturally, he/she will ask wtf you are talking about, then you reply smugly "I read somewhere there are two types of people in this world, underthumbs and overthumbs. I'm an overthumb"
You can see where the reults of this goes :) Now you have a mental upper advantage on him/her. |
