Ok.. yes I did a search.... I need to know.. I REALLY need to know who all you ppl with RHD imports are being insured through... cause I can't find anybody who will insure one for me.
I've tried my local brokers.. and my wife's broker inteh city, none of their "markets" will touch an imported RHD.
Thanks |

They can not deny you insurance on a street legal car. :)
I use Statefarm and have had no problems, my buddy uses AMA and another uses the cooperators. :) |

Actually they can.. they can have a list of restricted vehicles they don't insure. ING first said they wouldn't isnure it cause they didn't want to have to import body panels, so I told them there's a north american equivelant, then they said the engine, cause it's diesel the don't wanna have to import engine parts, so I told them once again, north american equivelent.. I told them the truck I just removed from the policy has the same engine(ok it doesn't the only diff is a longer stroke) then they came back and said it was on their restricted list.
I went to co-operators and they said they would have to check. |

My buddy has his Silvia insured through meloche monex
They wanted an appraisal, because they obviously had no idea of it's worth, to cover the fire/theft/vandalism. Can't afford accual coverage.
The funny part is he bought it for $9,000 and they appraised it at $17,000 !!
Anyone want to help him make $8,000? huh, anyone?! It's covered for theft! He won't mind!
Anyway, they are through TD bank, give them a call. |

TD does provide auto insurance on the cars they finance however it is not though meloche monnex. They will insure you though meloche monnex's sister company TD insurance. TD insurance rates are not as good as meloche monnex.
If you want meloche monnex you have to be A) a memeber of a professional association B) university alumni or C) an employee of a group that have a special agreement with meloche.
If you're not sure if you qualify or not you can call 1-888-385-6865 and talk to a sales representative. If you do qualify meloche monnex is the way to go. I've never had a problem with them once:bthumbup: |

I have none of the above and I opened my own policy with them when I was 16 and have been with them for 5 years now. No major problems, just a hard time understanding them on the phone(They always have thick accents). |

Well, as my post said, I have been with them for five years now..............................
Translation: I have used Meloche Monex for 5 years.
Now..........lets see if I can remember grade 4 math? Hmmm...
2005
5-
=
2000
I think I might have opened a policy with them in the year 2000.
But I am not sure, do you have a calculator? Maybe you could crunch those heavy numbers for me and double check.

| ahaha you didn't have to be a dick about it, i've been working on this paper for the last 5 hours so my brain is getting numb. but i did deserve that for being retarded. meloche has gone though some changes and now they do require that you meet their qualifications. thats strait off their website and if you phone they are gonna tell you the same thing. |

no once you have insurance though them they can't/wont because you've been an established client and why would they want to lose buisness? its strictly for new customers. |
