Has anybody seen a factory one with CD and tape together?
If not that route, how about one tape haed unit and one cd head unit in the same double din space. Other than powering each other separately, should I use a diode on the speaker wires to allow power to only transfer one way? |

No. In the 5 years of working on them I am yet to see this.
My GA had cd+tape but I gave up on tapes :) and purchased a deck. The power is seperate from one another but they work on the same remote switch. Im not 100% on that.

I actually looked further into this and its still not looking good :(. My ford parts guy will be back in on monday Ill ask him intead of his lackees. One thing Im gonna have to mention about those sterios , they cost a shit load more than something you could get that would sound alot better After market. In my 99 escort for example , a tape deck brand new factory replacement was around 1600 bucks cus the environmental controlls built into it like ac and vents ect... I would just buy something AM it would be alot cheaper. 1600 bucks could get you a whole sterio system that rocks the casbah. I found a used factory sterio tape deck for the escort from a wreckers for $300 it was the only 97-up escort in any alberta auto wreckers at the time so they considered that a deal. Sorry I keep going on and on......
Good luck with your decision. :)
