I'm assuming that you're talking about a valve cover, if that is the case I believe a lot of people do it themselves.
if you aren't familiar with Honda-Tech, I highly recommend you going there and using the "Search" function thoroughly.

| Pull off your valve cover, clean it, spray it with valve cover paint from canadian tire. Or have it powder coated if you have the money and patience to wait for someone else to do it. |

not quite.
You need to find somestuff called Aircraft remover, it's a hardcore paint stripper. Any serious auto-body supplier will have it.
Spray that on your valve cover and leave it for 10-15 minutes, spray it off and the valve cover will be stripped down to bare metal.
Then pull out the sand paper baby , you can sand for anywhere from 30minutes to 4hours depending on how good you want it to look.
When you're all done sanding, buy some 500degree ceramic engine spray paint from canadian tire and paint it,
here's mine:

| If you are all ready sanding then why use the aircraft remover? I just took a grinder shaved it so it was flat and know I will be powder coating it. |

because the honda valve covers are covered with a very thick crusty layer of paint, sanding all that off would suck ass. Not everyone has a grinder, and even then you're gonna have to sand alot by hand to get all the black off.
10minutes of waiting beats a crapload of sanding, but be careful with that aircrafy stripper though, it's hardcore stuff.
Use the aircraft stripper which brings it right down to bare metal, then sand the metal to make it as smooth as you like. There will be quite a few imperfections once you get it down to the metal.
oh, and I forgot, a Q-Tip with vaseline for the letters, the paint won't stick and you can just wipe it off after. |

Your valve cover looks really good. I would pull that heat shield out and fire some of that black high temp paint on it. It would look pretty sharp with that. |

| All I did was cover the surrounding areas and used VHT brake caliper paint. So far its held very well except in one are where it bubbled a bit. I was lucky, my UIM wasnt covered in grease or anything. |

lol, talk about ghetto, taking the valve cover off in our cars takes all of 5 minutes, so there's no reason to try and paint it in the engine bay.
Ya my heat sheild is long gone, there a DC Sports Header there now |
