Just finished reading an article about the changing values in society.
Thought it'd be interesting to see your POV.

I voted finical success, it is sort of unfortunate but these days you either have money in order to have a decent life, or you have a shitty life.
If you were able to live without having to pay for everything things would be different. But that would by communism then??(I think)
It is all based on your societal beliefs and worldview I think.

hahah you know I was thinking that when I posted this thread.
there shouldn't be any threads with the same question, similar theme but different all together.
Anyways, I've made so many I've forgotten, can you do a search for me to get an accurate number?
This getting old stuff really is as bad as it sounds...

| I'm leaving a job that pays almost double what I was making in Dartmouth, simply to be near my family and raise my child at home. I know I won't get anywhere near the wages I make here, but as long as I'm home, I'll be happy. |

| There is no simple cut and dry answer to this question. There needs to be a balance to the equation. Yes you need money to live, but spending all your time making lots of cash at the expense of your family and personal life will just leave you bitter rich old person. Quality of life is much more important than money, as long as you have enough to live on. |

Thats what I did when I left Suncor. I took a 50% paycut just to be with my family. At first it was hard but now I am happier than I will ever was. But I do miss making a 6 figure salary. Oh well only the government was getting rich and not me.
