Had the car out. - Click HERE for Original Thread

SRBURG13
Well, I had the car out for the last few days, and it was great. On friday we relocated the battery in the trunk, and it works like a charm now. No more hesitant starts. Fires up like new.

Hmmm, I really don't have any racing stories, cause I really didn't bag it too hard. Only story I have is that some dudes pulled me over just off Jasper ave and started asking me about the car. "Is that turbo? Is that the Blowoff valve? Is that a Silvia engine?" I had to laugh, that was the first time that happened.

Pretty much in perfect running conditions. Only problems is: Some studdering while slow acceleration, rough idling, and the gasket on the exhaust keeps coming apart, making it really noisy. Other than that, I LOVE IT!!!!

PEACE

I thought that I would keep those posted who are interested. Apparently by the random phone calls, there are a few out there. :o

Random phone calls.... hmmm.... that just sounds funny :)

Sounds like you're having fun with your car, mine is only on insurance for another 10 days.... :|

Doesn't sound like it has any "real" problems considering that you've done a whole engine swap with a jdm engine :)

How are your plugs gapped?

I had a stuttering when I accell hard, gapping hte plugs waaaaay down to like .015 (The thickness of a sheet of a clear plastic looseleaf cover)

Is you're coil and ign ok?.

The spuddering is gone when the car is cold. When is warms up and gets driven continuously, then the spuddering slowly comes back. I'm just curious to see how it is going to pan out in the summer when it is 30 degrees. Kinda scared actually.

Yeah, random phone calls from dudes wanting to talk to me about my car.

I haven't a clue what the gap is between the plugs. I'll find out. I'll worry about that when the car is officially parked.

Thanks for the posts guys.

It's probably something minor... I know my engine makes a tickin noise sometime, but Neil Sumaru said it wasn't anything worth replacing in a hurry, maybe in a couple of years the valve lifters (actual name.. tappets?) may need to be replaced as they are the cause of my problem. For now I need tierod ends, inner and outter

Just be sure to have fun... that's the key to this whole thing right? So Aaron hows the car running now, is it fun... like really fun?! It must feel so different than when you ahd your 240sx motor in the car.

Goodluck in the fine tuning of her, hopefully she'll run amazing for spring/summer.

I must say, Aaron that your car is everything a Talon isn't. It's just plain fast, thanks for the ride. I look forward to establishing some Nissan domination in this city. SHIFT_Enjoy the ride

Domination by Nissan = nissanation :D

But really, that'd be so cool, have the Nissan team take home prizes next year :)

SRBURG13
HEY JARED!!! Didn't know that you were on here. Thanks for the compliment. No worries about the ride. Anytime. Hope you enjoyed it.

Aaron, I'm only on here because of your suggestion. I prefer Freshalloy.com for 240SX related info, and I can use this forum to help the guys in the city that want to catch up. Thanks again for the ride. Any plans on drag racing Summer of 2003?

OH OH !!!! I feel another urge to take the car out for a little bit if the streets get real nice after these past couple of days of nice weather. Hmmmmmmmm, what do you think?

1mns13
I think it's getting cold again and the the pavement is too hard for safe traction. If you don't need to, just wait a while.
Jared

SRBURG13
Yeah I know I shouldn't. Cause that would suck if something terrible happened. Ah well. I'll live. I guess I'll just have to continue driving the NX.

BlueTurboEGG
And What's so bad about that?! :)

SRBURG13
Hahahaha, um nothing. Its a 1600 and its Auto. Thats what. Oh, and its a purplish silver. Although nothing is wrong with purple. Shit, I'm just diggin myself a hole here, aren't I? :o

PEACE

I must say the heat the car makes, is good for winter. The stiff pressure plate makes getting moving on ice a challenge. Getting around with GA16 power and a automatic would be a lot easier. It's gonna be fun cruisin' and killin'.
:D

I seen 7 psi today! the roads are getting better.

redbaron303
YA! Fun fun fun! :)
