| How do I get the pistons in the caliper to open up to accept the new non worn pads? |

| push in carefully, a hunk of wood and prybar, or ideally, a c-clamp. it goes slowly, but it does go. sometimes the angle makes a difference. |

you gotta turn it.
Notice there's a cross in the piston, just use something to wedge in there (cross is supposed to be for special tool for turning the piston) and turn. |

| On mine you can open up a pair of needle nose pliers to the right size and turn it with those. There should be grooves on the face of the piston. I'm sure that there's some tool the factory will charge you $150 for if you'd rather go that route. |

Yup this is the easiest way. Its really slow and tight to push the piston but it will move enought to put in the pads. Dont forget to change the anti vibration plates so you dont got squeeky new brakes. |

| Be sure to remove the cap from your master cylinder, otherwise you're trying to push the fluid back into a sealed system.....not that easy. You don't need to take it right off, just lift it off so it doesn't have a seal and leave it loose to ensure you don't get crap into it. |

You'd be surprised. It's something that even veteran mechanics forget to do on occasion. |

| I changed mine a week ago and all I did was open the lid use the old pad and a C clamp and pushed the piston back in. Slipped in the new pads and reinstalled. Just watch you don't over flow when you go to do the second one. Once your done you just have to pump the brakes a little and they are good to go again. |

in the front the piston has a notch in it, you screw it back in with pliers or vice-grips,
in the back you use a c-clamp to push it back in,
or maybe vice-versa |
