I used mandrel bends for the left and middle pieces. For the piece on the right my friend wanted the pie-cut look under his hood (the other two go from the intecooler into the engine bay).

It looks way better now. It's all painted flat black.
Anyway, it's not as cheap as I thought it would be, mostly because of the couplers. $30(x5) each at Mopac. So with the pipe and clamps, it came to almost $250 just for material. |

I can appreciate the craftsmanship that goes into making a piece like that. But I definately don't see the asthetic appeal of that over a smooth mandrel bend. :dunno:
Doing that just for the LOOK seems silly to me, just more of that "the Japanese are doing it, so it must be cool...". And in this case, we're not talking about titanium. |
