Its not the track model....but we'll see how it goes....
Apparently, an old buddy of mine is the GM of sales at WestEnd Nissan.....usually test drives arent permitted on a vehicle like that but since I know Frank (best friends since we were born practically...lol)...he said he'd let me take it out ....woooooooo!!!!!!!
I also told him im looking for a straight trade...lol....it sounds promising if I DO end up liking it though :P
*sigh*.....tommorow i guess? I'll dream/think about it tonight :P |

I wanna compare it with the S's handling.......and if i feel comfortable driving it? .....so used to driving smaller cars, u know? ....If I can live with it and get a straight trade?...AND keep my mags from the S? Its a no brainer.......im gonna take it! Cuz then I can sell my mags and the other stuff I can easily bolt off and maybe invest in a turbo (twin turbo, maybe?) hehehe..... |

Yeah...fricken....I really liked the look and feel sitting in the car and just looking at it upclose on the outside....
BUT, I dont know guys.....It really bothered me about the really light clutch and high friction point :( The throws on the shifter werent too bad but still felt longer than what I have in the S2000....I dont think...actually, I KNOW the tranny on the 350 isnt as good as the S....the links didnt feel as solid as i was expecting....And YES, u DO notice the car is 500lbs heavier than mine.....Also, i guess it was expected that the revs wont move up and down as quick as mine (i must've got used to the 8lb flywheel in mine)....this also makes rev matching, heel-toeing a bit more difficult (not to mention the high clutch)....and NO, I DOOO know how to rev match and heel-toe...hahahaha.....
OK ok.....enough saying about the stuff i didnt like .....I have to say that i could really get used to the torque in that puppy! WOW! going from 159lb/ft to 274?....I was wishing my S had that much, honestly! For those of you that like a quiet cabin, it feels like this car was twice as quiet.....not too shabby,,,,took some getting used to.....(im used to hearing a screaming engine at 9000rpms).....as for as the engind sounding nice? Has a nice growl to it at low-mid rpms.....althought i wish it was a bit more melodic? not ferrari melodic but know....somethign a bit sweeter sounding, if that makes sense.....The look of the interior is pretty nice and roomy......i could really get used to that too! (yucky center console because its plastic...yucky!).....overall the interior is much nicer in the Z than the S  .....Mmmmm, the Z is also much easier to launch than the S...must be from the generous torque :P .....
I think if i were given the straight accross trade, I would have taken the Z but they arent :( Soooooooo, im sticking with the S.....Unless of course my buddy (the GM there) pulls a few strings..lol. Anyways, I feel alot more comfortable in the S.....love the nimbleness of it and I dont nkow if any of you have heard an S from the inside?....but ugh!....its got a pretty sweet sound of its own......Plus, the clutch is where its supposed to be :P (my biggest pet peeve on the Z)
Anyways, my thoughts....

The biggest impressions the 350Z had on me were steering feel (really nice feedback - tight and precise), and the overall handling felt very well balanced. I'm fairly certain the 350Z would outhandle my 300ZXTT, if I were to compare stock vs. stock.
And that generous torque curve... wow.
The seats are ultra-comfortable, and fit and finish were excellent. |

I'll admit, the steering felt nice :) ......I only say that cuz i didnt notice it....again, must be used to the S2000 ....I think the S2000's steering wheel is smaller than the 350's though.......maybe it just felt smaller, who knows? lol..
And yup....like i said above....the inside was really nice and roomy....comfy seats......just didnt like the plastic middle part that splits the dash.....maybe the could have just blended that in with the leather? |
