| hey guys i'm not much of an "engine" person (still in the learning process) and i would like to know how would the performance of the prelude change if someone were to put in the RSX-S engine.. would that be possible? what would be the "ups" and "downs" to this. |

| Anything is possible with money I suppose...but other than that we all know it ain't gonna bolt straight in. But as for performance wise, the plain VTEC H22a will still do the best simply its got the torque to pull a heavier car. But in general, i-VTEC should perform better than the plain VTEC and you'll realize that the i-VTEC ecu is very sensitive to changes...and will cycle thru it's myriad of maps to produce the best results. |

Palo, i don't think it would be reasonable to put a Kengine into your BB6 chassis. You'd have to get custom mounts to fit that sucker in there. Remmeber, DC5/K20 headers are coming out the back. You'd have to turn the engine around so that it faces backwards from taht of a RSX, then have someone make you a custom header that is for a reversed mounted K20 engine(specific for a BB6 chassis).
I do believe the Kseries engines are better in that they flow very very well. They flow almost....almost as good as a F20C/S2000 engine and that says a lot. Check this out man
I've posted flow graphs for the RSX/K20A, S2000/F20C, and Prelude/H22A, there's also a B16A so you can kinda see. RSX heads pretty nice :)
heh...ah just sell your Prelude get a RSX man :bigthumbup:

| There are a lot of other issues that occure with the K series apposed to all the other B and H series engines.. The engines are really different.. the rotation is even in the other direction... I don't know.. I don't think its worth the money.. Plus you can't really feel the vtec kick with the i-vtecs unless you spend a lot of money after the fact.. just sell your lude and get a RSX.. they look better anyway.. IMO, but I drive a civic so don't mind me |

====================
Is that a bad thing? |

| Not really, but I like seeing people think they are getting away from me and then my vtec kicks in and I leave them in the dust.. The change over in the K series engines is a lot more smooth. The H22 engines have the same amount of power and there are more modifications for them.. I guess I just don't understand why you would want to try this swap ?. |

i drove a car with i-vtec, pretty boring if you ask me..doesnt compare to v-tec as when the cam switches over..
i-vtec cant make nowhere near as 2.2 vtec motor as the mods on the motor respond very differently between the two..
Merry Christmas :bigthumbup: |

| exactly... But if you want a I-vtec under your hood go for it... you can spend 30,000+ making it work just like the E-Z motorsports civic.. and have nothing to show for it in the end :D IMO of course.. I guess you would have a Ivtec emblem.. |
