Does anyone know if the VG30ET (3.0L V6 Turbo) can be transplanted into a Nissan 240sx or an early 70's NIssan Z car?! If someone has an answer to this, is that one of those things that's just ridiculously expensive or not so much?!

With enough money, you could do anything. Stop asking these stupid questions. :thefinger:

Every post that I've read that you've had a comment on, is assanine! You don't have any respect for anybody so why don't you go piss up a rope... If you don't have anything constructive to say about someones post or when you're replying to another comment F*CK OFF and don't post. Keep your bitter and dumb comments to yourself.

My question is not dumb! You reply is DUMB!

I have a very valid question as I am not a mechanic and other people here have a lot of experience with swaps and cool engine mods. So would the people that have something constructive or experience in the "swap" field be able to tell me something use full about my question?! Question being is it possible to do a good but not ridiculously expensive swap of a 3.0L V6 into an older 280Z or 240sx!?

Try to contact these people. I remember seeing on there webpage before a project car that did have a VG30 in it. It does not appear in there project portion of there website. But contact them. I believe they did do such a swap.

That's just cool! Thanks, you know, you seem to have an answer or webpage for everything :) You have a knack for finding things on the internet..... what about lottery #'s?

Sorry Terry.

I know I went a "little" overboard in my reply to DSM4ever... but all I did was ask a simple question, if he didn't have anything constructive worth saying I would have preferred that he wouldn't have answered at all. Like I said, it seems he never has anything nice worth saying to any of us... Did someone steal your DSM man and your just pissed or are you just pissed?! That's my question to him.

Anywayz, I appolgize to anyone that may think not nice things of me for what I said to Dsm4ever but too bad to him.

I'm getting the feel that DSM4Ever is pretty much going to be like that...
But yes, I do remember seeing an article in SCC about a VG motor installed in a 70's Z and making 11's at the track with a relatively stock appearance.

So yes, it can be done, has been done. and I sure would like to see it...

I keep getting positive feedback from the couple of webpages that Ive posted my question on, at least towards the classic Z, not the 240sx!

So far most answers have ranged from yes, but everyone says cost can be cheap under a grand, or way the hell over..... I guess i'll start doing some research on it with my mechanic and see if it would not be cheaper to fix my car if it's in a fixable state.... I'll try and post of pix of what happened so you all can see why i'm so sad and am trying to salvage what Ican with her...

Don't let DSM4EVER bug you, he's just bitter he doesn't have a Talon anymore, and has to drive:

A VW Fox purchased for about what an XBOX costs. It has duct tape holding the lights on, and no exhaust, cause it fell off last month!

dogstar
dropping that engine in "should" be possible, from what i remember of the engine bay on a 240.
if your getting it done in a shop, i doubt itll be cheap, unless the mechanic is very good, or cuts you a deal, as there will be motor mount fabrication issues, and probably the relocation of a lot of the accessories and underhood stuff.

mind you, this answer is coming from someone who doesnt own either of those cars, so i maybe wrong, im just telling you what i learned from researching a v8 (chevy350) into an 82 supra, which is a similar sized engine bay to the 240.

all the best of luck to you, and remember, dont feed the trolls (Dsm), it only makes them louder :)

Ya, my mechanic is awesome, he did SRBURG13's car and it came out great.... I still havent' told him what happened though... I'm gonna call him tomorrow and explain what I want to do, maybe he'll take the parts on trade for labour or something.... :S

I'm just screwed now financially till spring because of this accident. At least my school is paid for and I don't have to worry about that, education is important but so is my car....

Like I've been hearing, I see things working out for spring... maybe I'll have my conversion done then or just have bought a newer car?! Who knows and only time will tell... For now, I'll study hard and work hard so I can come play this summer with the carZ! :D
