Hey Karl,

Thanks for letting me hang with you guys last night...
That MR2 absolutely spanked me off the line... but I did manage to get him at the top end.

What did you guys end up doing after?

John with the nice white Supra whated to race but I think he was running 17 or 18 pds of boost. I probally would have got spanked.

talk too you later,

jc

Jack. A stock Supra boost at 11.5 psi. He dynoed at 370 whp. You at 14.7psi should dyno at 340 whp. Considering the weight diff you should easily beat the supra. Eric took john for a ride in his fd and John said it clearly faster than his supra. But then he could of added more stuff to his car by then. Either way it would of been a good race.

Hey Rad,

thnks, I think John said something that he dyno'ed with 12 pds but last night he was up to 17-18pds. Stock: 11.5 = 330 stock HP. then 17 pds = 435 hp.

I've only had the car out for about a week (little rusty)... but if it was me racing I probally would have blew my load at the start line like last night.

Hey John... if you catch this thread..."Nice Ride man"! Good luck at the track this year!

The numbers I gave you were at the wheels and not at the fly wheel. Either way John's MKIV is a nice car.

MKIV weighs 3415lbs Jack.
FD weighs 2800lbs.

Hey Jack,

You gotta take me for another ride in the RX, like you used to 3 (!?!) years ago.

Oh, and a stock supra will put down about 305 rwhp. With intake/exhaust you're looking at probably 340 rwhp and it will make about 14-15lbs boost, minimum. I don't know about this Supra, but with a little more boost, high 300's is probable.

Give the weight, a MKIV would need close to 400 rwhp to beat your FD in a drag race. Those cars are pretty heavy, and hard to get off the line. Top end is big though.

Chris, thanks for the info...
My car had not changed that much... got the factory wing on... lighter window tint, but the ride has got really poor... I think the shocks might need some work. Damm Koni's.

It wouldn't ride anywhere like your new ride.
take care,
