brake fluid?

I forget the name of the blue stuff, its supposed to be pretty good. ATC?

ManHunter
At least DOT 5 break fluid. DOT 5.1 even better. Especially if you have upgraded your brakes.

You don't need DOT 5 brake fluid, it is not recommended for cars equipped with ABS. Because it doesn't absorb water, so the water will pool up and rust inside. As for buying Red line stuff, ask Loose, he's got it in his tranny.

Dot 5 and 5.1 are totally different.

Dot 3, 4, and 5.1 are glycol based. Dot 5 is silicone based. I wouldn't recommend using Dot 5 unless your brake system is compatible with silicone based fluid.

Interesting. Can you give me an exemple of a brake system compatible with DOT 5?

I met a guy at Soda Jerk's that was asking me about brake fluids. I told him I had 5.1, he said he was using 5.

replacing ur brake fluid w/ an aftermarket one will usually result in less brake fade under hard conditions b/c it will be able to w/stand the higher temperatures and not boil the crap out of ur system.

Anybody know where we can find some Motul fluids?
