Hey
I was wondering does anyone know some quality body shops around and how much do they charge to patch up some rust spots?

Hi Andriy,

Check out Champaigne Autobody. They do superb work. Talk to a fellow there by the name of Jean. He is one of the managers there and he has been doing autobody work and mechanical work for over 30 yrs. I have personally known Jean for over 5 years. He is a perfectionist and will not let your car go if it is not right. He used to own his own shop, but then went to work for his friend that runs Champaign. Jean has been there since Nov I think?

As for pricing I am not sure what they charge per hour. I believe they are located on the West End of Edmonton.

Hope this helps,

Mike Nikolai

well like a guesstimate, like light rust on rear fenders and doors around molding mounting points... i'm looking at this car and wondering how much it'll be to fix it up.

Hi Andriy,

That is tough to say. Best thing for you to do is check out 3 different shops. There may be more work required than what you think.

Rust is nasty, you only see a very, very, very small portion of the affected area. This shows up as surface rust. More can and will be found through sand blasting.

Also check inside the rear inner fenders, specificaly along the seams of the wheel wells. This is another great place for rust to breed and grow.

A best guess is you may drop between $1,000.00 to $3,000.00 to get it done properly. A hack job that is only good for so long will be less.

What are your plans for the car? Do you want to keep it, or sell it? If keeping it, I would shell out the money to have it done properly. If you are selling it, then go for the quik cheap fix and unload the car.

Hope this helps,

Mike Nikolai
