180sx Rack and pinion - Click HERE for Original Thread

Supra-Dan
What rack and pinion from a 240sx will fit my 90 180sx that has HICAS. I need a new one to pass an out of province and the morons are telling me i have to order one from japan and hope its here in 14 days or i need a new inspection. He says NA 240sx dont have HICAS he also thinks there front wheel drive so i wouldnt doubt hes a retard Im almost 100% sure lots of american 240s have 4 wheel steer. Actually im positive they have it. Im not so sure i want these dooshbags fixing the rack, but i have no choice because all repairs must be done by the mechanic who inspected wich makes me think That everythings fine and there just trying to make money

So what do i need to get for parts here to work?

Since when do the mechanics doing the inspection have to do the work? They're trying to screw you.

Its what there sign says i guess? and if its not fixed in 14 days i need a new 100 doller inspection. Fuck that if that happens there not even gonna inspect it there just gonna take my 100 bucks and look at what was wrong before. yup royally screwed im not sure a LHD rack and pinion will work on a RHD ither so im in another predicamint, this was pretty much the worst thing that could happen to me

NA models do come with HICAS as an option, that's not even debatable.

But I have no idea if the rack and pinion from a 240 would work in a 180.

It should work the only difference is the HICAS rack is quicker. Take it to another shop for the out of provence. I think he's pulling your chain

EDIT: LHD rack will not work in a RHD car
