Other than the shipping and tax, what we are ending up paying and how much approximately?
And for the tax, how much we have to pay?
I'm planning to buy a vehicle off Ebay. |

www.riv.ca will tell you everything such as the A/C tax, etc....
You pay 7% GST, and if the car wasn't made in North America you will also pay duty. |

I paid 6.25% duty on a car originally made in Germany, 7% GST and $100 Air Conditioning tax on a 1987 vehicle. I don't know if there's more charges on less-than-15-year-old cars.
If it's less than 15 years old, go to the above mentioned site, look up "Inadmissable Vehicles" and check it out first. If your eBay vehicle is Inadmissable, the Canadian Government will protect you from yourself by not allowing the car in, no way, no how, Jose. Just another way your tax dollars are at work, saving you from doing something you want to do..................

| When I brought in my 99 GSX I paid 7% GST (on the book value of the car not what you payed), $100 air conditioning tax and $107 to registration of imported vehicles. If your car isn't made in the US you have to add duty to that as well. |

Thx for the inputs.
Is it possible to import modded cars?
Like bodykits,Nos..
www.riv.ca says that none of Kit cars less then 15 yrs old is not admissible. I wonder if the Kit cars refer to bodykitted cars. |

i think kit cars refers to cars that are built from the ground up;
.ie the Westfield XTR2, which is a 900 lbs. kit car (ridiculously fast track car, also street legal) with a suzuki hayabusa engine (170hp) (do the math on that power to weight ratio :D ) |

| I imported my car and it had quite a bit of mods so I don't see why it would be a problem. |
