| tsi would smoke the camaro off the line, but around 100kmh i think the camaro would pass you.. not 100% sure though.. only one way to find out right? :D |

| All depends on the year of the Camaro. The newest ones were running low 13s stock I believe, but if you go back to the Z28s of the 80s, maybe 15s....maybe. |

I think it's safe to say if both are stock and the Camaro has fuel injection, you'll lose.
If the Camaro is carb'ed and stock, you'll easily win. |

Ahh bench racing.....
First of all, how much power do you think you are making with your AWD DSM? If you are in the 350 Crank horsepower ballpark and you know how to LAUNCH your car (Sub 1.8 60ft's) you should be able to beat the Camaro.
I beat a 97 Camaro SS @ Bud Park last friday running a 350 Crank Horsepower Subaru which has very similar weight and drivetrain characteristics to an AWD DSM. Think I ran a 13.4 @ 101 MPH. Beat him by a couple tenths.
If you are on your stock turbo, I would think a 90's F-body (Camaro/Firebird) would spank you handily. |

| There are many different possible engine combinations for a later (80s+)Z28 camaro depending on year; it could be a carbed 305, 350, injected 305 or 350(IROC), or in the case of the last generation either LT1 or LS1. If said camaro is an ls1 it would probably beat you as they are know to run high 13s stock. Lt1s are no slouches either pulling off low 14s stock. The 80s, in general, was a sad year for f-body performance. |

1993 is the first year of the current (or last, I suppose) body-style of the Camaro, and a Z28 is fitted with an LT1 engine with 275 horsepower. This was also the first year that the 6-speed transmission was available in a Camaro.
Stock vs stock the '93 Z28 will win. 275hp against your 205 and a full second faster in a quarter-mile.
Any Mustang GT from 93-up would pose a similar threat to a TSi.
Of course, given real-world scenarios and inexperienced drivers, the Camaros and Mustangs are prone to a lot of wheelspin, whereas the Talon is not, and becomes a handy equalizer in a lot of encounters. |

| i know i would slay a gt up to current year, since the tsi wieghts 1ton less and has about 30 hp shy of the stang. power to wieght the tsi would win. but the corba has a good 300-320 and that why i asked. i know the z28 would be hard as shit but i figure with injectors boost controller and some other performance stuff i would beat it for about 700 by a good second. your thoughts? |

| Well dont the older camaro's have alot of potential? My dad has got a '86 Camaro with very low KMs and I have seen those things pull very fast.. |

You are mistaken.
A 90's 5.0LX does the quarter in the mid - high 14's bone stock. Which would definetely make it hard for you to beat (since you'll run mid 15's stock).
And no - you aren't going to beat a LT1/LS1 by camaro in the 1/8th mile. |

You definetely won't beat a LS1/LT1 in the 1/4.
And if I recall, you mentioned upgrading injectors. The DSM'ers can chime in, but if I remember right the 450CC injectors they have have run many cars into the 12's/13's without a problem so I don't think they should be first on your list... |
