Hi Everyone,
Here is an idea I have been pondering. Seeing as how Saturday is supposed to be +24 should we turn this meet into some sort of a BBQ, then go for a cruise after?
Afterall we have the location, we have the cars, we have the means to cook to food?
We can discuss the club in more detail as we progress. We are growing exponentially and much faster than I expected. It appears that after one month of being operational we have grown to 21 members. Not too shabby.
What are everyones thoughts? I value all input.

P.S. I also posted the same post in the supraclub forum. |

as long as we get a good turn out... maybe email all the members who don't frequent the forums to let them know about it?

Hi Andriy
I do not have a complete uptodate list with the members on it. I think I should get one. I will contact Earl for it, that was I can sent out a mass email to everyone.
Supra_Devil,
Good work on talking to the shops, making connections! It is always good to have as many contacts out there as possable, for parts, service and to support them.
As for the list of things to bring or the BBQ, I am uncertain if people want that, or if they want to bring their own thing, or what? It kind of is short notice about the BBQ. Hopefully we will get a good response from club members and whom are interested in joining the club.
I would like the club to be a fun place where people look forward to the meetings and have a good time. Granted having a BBQ would be a little difficult in the middle of winter. ha ha ha.

Hi Night_Font
I was thinking of having the BBQ at Harwelak Park. I seem to remember that where we are meeting there is alot of space avaliable to park and veg.
Mind you it would be pretty neat so see a bunch of Supra's parked outside someones place. ha ha ha.
Edit: Yeah, bring a friend that would be good. Sorry I did not address this in the original post.

Well unfortunatly I have to work until 6:30pm, but might be able to meet up with you after I am off depending where you are.
I am guessing I should throw all my sport stuff back in my car for the summer; soccer ball, football, volleyball, basketball, frisbie, aerobie.
Hope to see you guys on Saturday.

Same time as the supra meet. Show up between 4 and 5pm. We should be there for a while. I will not be able to get there till 4:30 ish.
We can discuss the club, etc and have a BBQ during or after. We will play it by year.

Hey,
Who has the pix from this months meet? Your gonna post pix soon eh?
I found it odd that only a few people came out considering the weather, but what can you do. Well we had an OK time at the park but by the time we cooked & cleaned up most of us had to cut out. (Thanks for the food Dave)
I know we could have been up two more people but Dave had that little mishap with the neon. I am happy to say Dave and Glenn are OK but the N/A looked sort of folded. Dave said he would post pix and keep us informed with details.
Dave, your gonna post pix soon eh?
I had to be a Trowas at 9 am to pull his motor. I didn't get there till 9:30 and it took us till 12 to get the motor onto the ground. I think that’s not bad for 3 people.
Andriy, your gonna post pix soon eh?
(I really have to buy a camera)
We will do another BBQ May 28 or 29 at my house. I’ll confirm the date soon.

so my back still hurts a lot from the whiplash, but generally I'm ok, just really pissed off about this whole thing...
today I went to R&S collision centre and got an estimate, right away when he looked at the front he said it looked like I've been taking good care of it.. then he walked around to the back, saw the damage and instantly said write off, but after that he told me to park it and he'd write up a quote, and he asked me what I thought the value of the car was, so I told him $6000 because just because I bought it for 2k and put 4k into the rebuilt engine, so he said well ok its worth repairing then, and wrote up a quote for $5200, but said he knew there'd be another couple thousand on top of that once they actually get into it..
he gave me the claim inquiry number and told me to phone them and give them the guys name and policy number, and they'd give me a claim number and the adjusters name, who I should contact and ask for what I've been told it'd cost for repairs by his shop (about 7000) and to ask for a rental car while its being fixed.
also I stopped at my dealership, my service manager was good about everything, said take the time I need to get everything sorted out, and come back when I feel I can handle the work again. one of the Audi service advisors I've gotten to know pretty well took a look at the car, and mentioned that he's been in a few accidents involving injuries, and told me to contact a laywer by the name of Jay Bowen who he said is excellent, so I'll give him a call today and see if I can meet with him to find out what I should do. |

i'm pissed that i missed the meet, my whole weekend was ruined so i wasn't happy. the meet was all i had left, lol.
i'm glad me a dave are ok. From the pics i saw it doesn't look like as many people showed up as i was hoping for though, but there was still lots there. |

Hi Dave,
Thanks for keeping us updated. R&S I have found to be the most expensive repair shop. There is also one called Car Star that is located by Brake Check. I had visited them a few months back for some quotes for cars and I liked what I saw there. Great service. You can also bring in your quote to other shops too and they may be able to bring down the price a bit. There is also another one called Champaigne Auto Body. They are on the west end over by Mayfield road and 109 St. I know one of the guys that works there and they will do outstanding work.
I will keep my eyes peeled for you.

well the latest update is I talked to the adjuster from his insurance company, and she said that R&S wasn't on their list of places to go to for quote, so now I have an appointment for an appraisal on wednesday, we'll see what comes of that. she said after that though, I can get it repaired wherever I want, I could send it to R&S get them to do the work then have them send the invoice to his insurance company.
at this point I've pretty much decided even if they can fix it, I'd honestly be happier just keeping this/buying it back as a parts car and getting a different one (twin turbo..) so I'll have to see if they're willing to just give me what it would cost to have it repaired..
also, I talked to a lawyer today, at a firm recommended by my friend who works as a paralegal, and the woman I talked to over the phone today said basically don't even bother with an injury lawyer over whiplash, with the soft tissue cap its pointless, just wasted money. I was pretty surprised to hear that
I was really hoping my back would just be stiff for a few days or something, but still today, it just kills to stand up for long amounts of time, even just sitting it still aches, this is really shitty. my job is all physical labour too, and I really can't afford to take much than few days off here, the bills don't stop coming.. |
