TRD
which one of these cars do u think is a good car?? im thinking of buying a mr2 this summer but due to budget its either i'll keep my celica or just sell teh celica nad buy an mr2 but there all 86-87 though non turbo. which vehicle would you choose in terms of power and handling.

stealth
mr2, you wont regret it.

but they didnt come turbo in the first generation, only supercharged.

blown_mr2
I would go with the Deuce (ofcourse!!:D ).

I've heard great things about the supercharged MK1. I haven't driven one, but they are supposed to out handle the MKII, which is saying alot.

MKI MR2 gets my vote.

Shady_Pro
unless the celica was an all trac turbo...then it would be a no brainer

rexxrally
Power and handling in the SUMMER or WINTER? Summer = MR2, Winter = Celica.

Do you have more than 1 friend to cart around? Do you carry luggage with you when you go out of town? Do you ever have cargo bigger than a tire? If so, an MR2 isn't the right vehicle for you.

how much is the cheapest.. cuz the decent one are usually 3500. from what i heard the Celica engine is suppose to have more power than the mr2 (both stock no turbos or supercharge) is that tru??

CJDP
i have a 82 celica supra i think? you can buy it haha. It's decent inline 6

turbo_dave
get the mr2, it's a better drivers car being mid engine and rwd. There are also a ton of mods you could do to the already high reving 4-ag.

ND4SPD
Get the MR2 MK1...
gosh I missed mine.

I would hazard to say, judging on the size of both cars, that the MR2 would weigh less than your Celica (A significant amount). Weight doesn't affect horsepower ratings, however weight affects your car's overall performance

Insomniac
i drove a mk1 mr2 for the first time about a month ago and was blown away. although it was a bucket, it was one of the most fun cars i've ever driven. handling was awesome.

92exrcoupe
sc mr2 only came in 88-89
but one of the funnest cars i have own
mr2 is my choice

takayuki
i drive an '89 celica gts with the 3sge. i;ve driven the mk1 mr2 as well. hands down, mr2 is definitly more fun to drive and handles better than the celica. but the celica will be faster in a straight line. me thinks i would get another mk1 mr2 but being a 2 seater with no storage space, i opted for the celica

TRD
i personally like my celica though. its pretty revy and fun to play around with.. but then i gotta get my clutch fix so i gotta find a place that will do it for cheap.. but its all good.. if im lucky mayb i can find a mr2 for a grand or 2 haha IF im lucky haha
