Heres some of the other stuff.

I have DC 4-2-1 headers coming and a Greddy Evo2 Exhaust. |

Thank you for buying at least some performance parts. :)
Welcome.
So, do you have your tractors lisence or something? (do they even have tractors lisences out here?) |

I dont think when I was working at the age of 15 I could afford headers and an exhaust system lol...let alone a newish car.
I can't afford that now:mad: |

i have my learners, but I just lost a job for yelling at my boss cause he wasnt paying us holiday pay and was being gay. I jsut got the final two gauges for my pod there.. a mini tach and fuel pressure. I cant drive till cotober, but I want to drive sometihng nice till then. When i'm 18 I either get my dads 2005 infiniti FX35 or My mom's IFINITI G35.

My lip is put on with a system that allows me to take it off and on easily. Takes me a minute to take it off. Cause I dont want to drve it in snow etc. Owns boody kits, but the price wasnt much less :( :blue: |

So will pretty much every other engine on the planet. The turbos are making that fast, not the triangles.
Nothing against rotaries, but I fail to see what makes them the magic ICE. |

My mom gave me 1500 to fix the family van. It's a 94 grand caravan. Here's my plan:
-Get a shope to fix the throttle body and rea window: Bdget $350
-Get a 3" exhaust that rund straight from the header mandrel bent at a machine shop and put on $300
-Get new carpet and interior peices that are missing (Pick your part and a fabric shop)- $200
-Make a CAI with a big cone filter and some 3" piping: $75
-Sell the rims it has now and put some f-150 rims on $200 on top of what i get for the ones it has now.
-Spend whatever i have on some suspension upgrades cause it'll be towing a small fishing boat and a 2500lb speedboat.
I was driving home from jackfish laje today and the tire on the trailer blew and I had to leave it n the side of the yellowhead go home get a new tire come out strip on of the lugs, go home get my socket set and come 0ot and get the other one off, out the new wheel on and go home.
Anyone know of a good machine shop that I can get the exhaust made at fro about 300? thanks! P/S Anyone from riverbend here?

Your right it isn't needed. But it wouldn't be 780tuners if guys who don't have cars on the road talked about how bad ass and fast they are. Don't mind the haters Charles_00civic, when someone doesn't have a car on the road I guess they have nothing better to do then sit infront of a computer and bash other people. |

Even though I think it's kind of silly to be trying to make your parents van fast, I'll throw in my 2 cents.
With a 3" exhaust straight from the header, which will be hard to find for $300 you would probably loose quite a bit of power unless the car has some sort of forced induction or large engine which I'm guessing it has neither of. Remember back pressure on a N/A small engine is a good thing.
About the CAI, where are you going to get a decent cone filter plus the materials to make the CAI for $75, you might want to budget a bit higher for that.
Good luck, but if I was you I'd leave your parents vehicles alone.
P.S. Also picking on a bone stock Civic with a TT RX-7 isn't very impressive, I'll race you if you want, but bring money. |

Budday, a cone filter and 3 feet of piping isnt gonna run me that much. Even if ai crush bend it it'll make a difference. The vans exahust right now is in shitttay condition. It rattles andis risted to the max. Too amny times beaking intot he lake. I want it so I can haul my boats around in the summer cause the civic cant do shit. Should I maybe aim for 2 1/2 piping?? Just something to add a bit more hp and maybe some decent sound. I'm taking out the back two seats and recarpeting so I can sleep there. P.S My civic beat an RX-7 with an exhaust. SO what? I was just saying that RX-7's arnt gods. |

If you can make your CAI for 75 bucks that cool, I was just thinking it might not be easy.
I wouldn't know what size to make your Vans exhaust but I know that 3" is too big. If I had to guess I'd say that without any other engine work any thing larger than half inch over stock you'll lose power.
About the racing thing, I wasn't talking about your civic, I was talking about the guy who said his RX-7 was a civic killer. |

don't those old caravans come with a turbo engine? i'm sure only certain models did...i remember seeing one run 12s somewhere on the net.
so if it is turbo i say do a couple fuel mods turn up the boost stick a nice front mount on it and a nice loud bov.
if i heard a mini van go flying by me and let off the bov i would give a  followed by a  then a  |

Nope, but i know what van your tlking about. white one with wood panneling beat a trans am. This one is a 3.2L V6 I think. Would the exhaust off a infiniti fx35 fit? (same as g35) cause my dad wants a new exhust for his suv! |

nope, best bet is to get one custom made.
As for mwdguy, 3inches will be good on any forced induction car, it doesnt have to have min 400 hp. |

i'm pretty positive it won't fit.....im sure the undersides of the two vehicles are completly different and the bends and such would be way off....if you have access to a lift once he takes the exhaust off then you can see for yourself but just don't get your hopes up |

NO NO NO NO NO. Would you PLEASE not post shit like this? That is absolutely false, you don't want ANY backpressure on a modern NA or FI engine. Modern engines rely on clean-burn ideals and backpressure prevents exhaust-scavenging, causing burnt air/fuel mixture to remain in the cylinder longer than it should ie) the next cycle. Of course having no backpressure is not feasible, but having the least possible is desireable. And of course, you can go too big on exhaust diameter, but that will depend on the size of the engine and it's power level. |

I was under the impression that you had to maintain some backpressure on small N/A cars otherwise you will lose power. Do you have any proof to back up what you posted? |

Modern engines rely on exhaust scavenging to pull burnt fuel/air mixture out of the cylinder while the intake valves and exhaust valves are open and fresh air/fuel is being taken in for the next cycle. The more backpressure you have the less scavenging will occur to the point that burnt air/fuel can reverse back into the cylinder and stay mixed with the fresh mixture, causing a less efficient burn.
As for proof, that depends on what will satisfy you as valid proof. This is where i learned all about exhaust concepts, it's an Integra site, but the concepts are relevant and applicable to any other modern engine. I have seen the same info elsewhere, but can't think where to find any links to it.
here's a link:here
If you wanna get right to the goods scroll down about 1/2 to 2/3 down the page to " The Mighty Backpressure Myth". If you find this stuff interesting, you can also check out the Exhaust Basics article, and Advanced Exhaust Tech article II, where this stuff is covered more in depth. |
